What’s the line of science to progress…like Japan’s Unit 731?

The US certainly loved their research as they gave Dr. Ishii immunity in exchange. And that research spawned our space race. Which led to the invention of Bluetooth, wifi and MRIs.

Guess it’s means versus the ends. Though we never know the end.

To be fair, The USA did far worse than Unit 731 in places like Vietnam, Iraq, Gitmo, Afghanistan and elsewhere. The USA gives itself immunity from prosecution by putting it's torturers and mercenaries as "contractors". Once they are implicated in a crime, they are "let go" to work in another division.

It's similar with killer/criminal cops. The union protects them from prosecution to the hilt and they go join another division.

Did the US government kill 400,000 in a human experimentation using bubonic plague? Remember the Japanese killed 35 million Chinese in WW2.
In Vietnam the North Vietnamese killed millions of South Vietnamese. Sadam killed millions of Iraqis. The Taliban kill any woman who tries to be educated.

The US used a lot of advanced research from the Japanese, Germans, British etc during and after the war. The Russians did too. The US government also conducted some pretty bad experiments on humans. It's why some people have as suspicion about Covid 19 being yet another biological warfare or societal human experiment.

Those last two pictures are fairly well known and they are of people who are burn victims as a result of the use of atomic weapons by the US government. There was no need for this and it was a criminal act in both cases.

Agreed! I will say intent is important though. US warned Japan, offered surrender multiple times…and Japanese soldiers were kinda embedded with the civilians.

I am actually more incensed from our European bombing runs like Dresden.

The US could have demonstrated a weapon for the Japanese on a Pacific island which might have persuaded them to surrender. There was no need to drop it on a city full of people - TWICE.

I hate the fact that we bombed Europe into rubble and destroyed Dresden.

But Japan didn’t even give up after the second nuke. It was the Russians invading Mongolia. But I agree on how we used the nukes. I just don’t know…

The Japanese didn't surrender after the first bomb. Japanese had been engulfed in firestorms caused by the firebombing, in the space of a few months most of their cities were leveled and nearly a million Japanese civilians died, more than both atomic bombs. In okinawa and iwa jima the Japanese army was fighting to the death and civilians committed suicide in the thousands. The Japanese weren't surrendering by just a mere demonstration, it was all together possible for the Japanese to refuse to surrender after a 2nd even third or fourth bomb was dropped.

@Drewtate very true. We were fighting a cult. And the emperor finally came out of hiding to say ‘we give up’. Not sure what it woulda taken for him to that otherwise.
