Warp drives, as in spaceship engines. The theory is already done and so far holds up. The problem is the ammount of energy and negative energy needed to use one. So building one is not only useless but impossible to test right now. The theory exists and is mathematically possible.
So "closer" as in its not purely science fiction but not as in we will have it the near future.

Male birth control, hopefully. Women have spent decades being the ones facing the countless side effects of birth control. It’s about time that men started taking some responsibility too, condoms do not count.

I believe we are at a point where we will have cancer vaccines to treat / fight off specific cancers without use of chemo. The whole point of the vaccines are to not weaken you, but to strengthen you.

Thanks to the mRNA that scientists figured out to help battle Covid19, they can utilize mRNA in defeating cancer. It won’t cure all, it isn’t a universal thing though it shows we are close to this ‘small’ breakthrough that will save millions of lives around the world.

I do believe in the next 50 years there will be advancements in Parkinson’s, Alzheimers, and more terrible ailments though not sure on a cure though I pray families that have been personally impacted negatively by these get their justice, a world where no one has to suffer the way their family members suffered. Thank you.

I would say curing cancer but it's already been done. So here's the problem by what you mean by your question to me, such things one may think is a breakthrough is probably already possible and been done.

Cancer has many different forms, and some more curable than not but that's proof we've already found cures. And pretty much as time goes on the cures should just improve and improve.

That's not a breakthrough in my mind though as we already doing it. So I guess to find my definition of this breakthrough would be something not done yet... Which we'll we've done everything I can think of until something new shows up.

But by the we've already done it as a breakthrough that would be me just describing things that are obviously improving.

Stopping the aging process. That doesn't mean all of it. Aging affects a whole lot of things. But I think one by one the process will be stopped or greatly reduced. I think people who are young today could potentially live to 150 or more. There would still be a lot of other ways to die, but I think many of the things specifically due to aging will be greatly reduced.

I think eventually the aging process will be stopped entirely.

I mean we already did that in the past really by increasing life expectancy though it's not the same.
But one could say this has already been done and will be done again no doubt.

However will still die from old age cause brain ain't going to last forever unless of course we become androids of some sort, but tech honestly would kill us quicker maybe.

      @Kaneki05

There has been a big decrease in infant mortality. There is all kinds of advances in medicine that allows people to live longer. But neither of those are actually stopping or slowing the aging process.

Just removing certain stress from one's life slows down the process. Plus if you look at species in general, we age much slower than our primates.
So I think this has already been done. And I am sure humans back in stone age would've aged much quicker than us even put them into our lives now. Probably still get near us but maybe 10 - 20 years less on average, just due to lack of genetics growth and evolution.

Sadly we can't do that test would be fun.

How to make Cheetos that don't turn your fingers orange. They have it but apparently it's part of the experience lol. This is half made up but I vaguely remember hearing something along these lines. What I'm saying is this is how rumors start haha

I know that there are aliens among us and on other planets, and I believe from what I thought I saw the other night, and from other people's accounts (my dentist's father as a young boy) that they exist and have existed since I don't know when. I believe that they will soon make their appearances more known. Maybe they want to help us and others. I don't think they mean harm. Those things we saw in the fall last year in the night in some states, is a start.

I won't say clone but if you think the entire biome hasn't been introduced to human DNA you're a fool. One word: Prometheus

In Ray Kurtzweil's book "The Singularity is Near" he discusses how the human brain has already been mapped and can be implanted into a computer.

Probably a real breakthrough in cancer research. A real boost in longevity, as some may point out, is limited by our own biological limitations.

We've been able to cure cancer for at least the past 80 or 90 years.
