Which is the best Anti Virus protection out there?

I have Norton, but they keep charging more and more money. They nickle and dime you for everything. Sometimes I wonder if they are the scammers. I cancelled my service and stopped auto renewal and they still sent me an email that I was being renewed. I took a screen print of their "sorry to see you go" to show they got my cancellation. So why the hell am I getting a renewal notice. My present enrolment ends on Jan. So who do you use?

You can get free Anti-virus in the trial period. Scan and fix, and then go to WINDOWS DEFENDOR. and don't visit fishy places on the internet.

If you visit fishy places do that in SANDBOX. That way you won't ever need Anti-virus 99% of the time.

Is Windows Defender already on your computer because it already does have some protection on it. How good it works I have no idea. It didn't stop McAfee from sending me pop ups about my computer having viruses on it.

Only one anti-virus works at a time,
if you get an anti-virus like McAfee, windows defender automatically shuts down.

I got mcafee, Before my 1yr term expires, I reset my Laptop. and restart the free 1 yr term..

McAfee is a very amazing anti-virus, so you will never be able to remove it completely, unless you are too good at application operating.

you purchasing anit-virus only matters if you are working professionally on laptop.

otherwise, if its just simple use, no anti-virus needed, instead stick with windows defender. and RE-install windows every 6-8 months, it keeps everything fresh..

The problem with most anti-virus software programmes is that they often prevent you from downloading things that you know are safe, plus they tend to really slow down the speed of the computer. I don't use one, because they're more trouble than they're worth.

Norton is a scam. So is McAfee. Been a while since I used a windows PC, but the free version of AVG did the job back in the days.

Norton is a scam. Just use uBlock Origin and windows defender. I've never had a virus and never paid for anti virus software.

I'll look into ublock Origin. Do you think McAfee is a scam too? I had it once and cancelled and I kept getting popups saying I had 5 viruses. I'm pretty sure it was from them.

Both McAfee and Norton have been sued for malware injections, along with false positives (though they also sometimes do their jobs, too). As long as you're not going to REALLY shady sites, you should never have a problem. I do torrenting, download ROMs, and watch porn and still have never had a virus it's not even that you need to be super alert, just not completely unaware.
