I still use and check yahoo daily! I've had it since my senior year of high school (2002). Why? I just like it; no other reason. Though for professional or important emails, I use gmail, but I have them forwarded to yahoo as well so I have two copies.

Hey, if it works, don't knock it. It's been around this long for a reason! My boss still uses hotmail if I'm not mistaken (she's in her 60s).

Yahoo limits file sizes, hotmail is vulnerable to hackers and gmail is banned in many countries making it impossible to communicate with certain regions of the world. Why I like to use my university inbox instead.

I use Verizon as a cable provider and they farmed their email out to AOL so I get my email through them. It is disappointing that it does not go "You have mail"

I still have aol and yahoo email accounts that I rarely use. I stick with google for most things, including email.

I do not pay for the "archaic" accounts.

I had an AOL account, got hacked in 2008, and AOL offered me absolutely NO help with reclaiming my email address. Switched to gmail and have never considered opening another AOL account.

Of course I have an old free address because it contains some really old emails but I don't actively use it. I did run into a friend of a friend who is still using AOL. I was surprised. She's probably 75-80 and still paying for AOL!
