Is Multi Factor Authentication annoying?

It is such a pain in the butt. I have 3 authentication apps on my phone. I use it every day, most days several times.

Update; there are authenticator that are extensions on the browser. However they are not used because the physical act of requiring a separate password protected device adds the level of security that is desired.

On some apps, it makes sense, and I like it. Those that have data that could be hacked and used for identity theft. But some apps use multi-factor authentication when there's really no reason to... and that's annoying.

My company, for example, required multi-factor authentication to check email... if it's been more than 3 days since I last logged on... annoying.

I can't even do anything on my bank's website a lot of times without putting in a code sent by text message. In a way that is a good thing to prevent scamming, yet it is still annoying when you are in a hurry.

It is outright offensive to folk who aren't fused to their phones 24/7.

Even without actively selecting it, so many sites mandate sending a message to a phone or something these days. Like what exactly would I do if I didn't have a phone? It is bad enough I have to dig through my bags to find the damned thing every time I want to log into an account on my computer. Isn't the excessively picky password enough?

Yubikey or password less, yes MFA is annoying, but not as annoying as a persons bank account emptied or your employer loosing millions of £££$$$€€€

Sometimes its really annoying, especially if some ccompanies, schools or websites force 1 specific 2fa-app which you normally never use. I now have 3 separate authenticators downloaded because school and my work force separate ones.

Forgot to add. I also hate it when you need your phone for it, especially when you plan on not using your phone or have to confirm every f*king action on it.

Absolutely annoying but it serves its purpose of keeping your private information private. Least until you consider that websites and companies sell your information all the time

Yes. I have to authenticate five times before I can log in. Going to start charging 7 minutes a day to "time spent logging in"

It is one of the most infuriating things about "security" in today's world of technology, and some apps even force you to set it up whether you want it or not. I work in IT and even I can't stand it.
