After installing latest security update, my phone starts lagging?

Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, Android 14, One UI 6.0, MediaTek SoC (2021), 6GB LP-DDR4X + 128GB ROM. The latest security update for the OS (so not Google Play) is from January 2024, but I installed it yesterday. Now my phone has been acting very slow and strange, with apps and media lagging and also when I tap the icon at the bottom with the 3 vertical lines to switch between apps, that has problems. Specifically, when I try to tap on another app to switch to it, some of my taps won't work and I have to double tap for it to respond wtf.

The last time I had such problems was before updating to Android 14 and One UI 6.0, when my phone was still at Android 13 and UI 5.1; even some of my apps are starting to lag more now. I've tried restarting my phone which sort of helped with the lag, but the touchscreen being unresponsive randomly didn't go away (I already have extra sensitivity disabled as I no longer use a screen protector). The only solution I haven't tried is to factory reset the phone, but obviously that has problems in of itself, so I'll do that as an absolute last resort.

I've also enabled and disabled touch gestures because that's supposed to somehow interfere, but that didn't really help. There's also developer options that I'm supposed to disable, but I don't recall enabling that and the Samsung settings confuse me. Finally, some websites suggest I take out the SIM card which I don't know why or how that'd be causing issues. I notice if I tap while switching apps, the problem seems to go away, but I'm not gonna always do that.

I meant if I tap very slowly, stupid autocorrect not adding in that word; hate how GaG doesn't let you edit questions, such a basic feature dumbass admins.

It's kind of common for your device to lag a lot for a day or so after a major update, because they have changed the way updates are done. In the past, your phone would reboot and it would start the update process, and it could be an hour or more before you could use the phone again. People didn't like that, so updates were reengineered so that only low level things are updated during the reboot, and you can use your phone after only a few minutes, BUT it continues to update and convert and rebuild things in the background for the next day or two. This causes lag until all the updates are completed.

How do you know that applies specifically for Samsung phones and Android?

Then how come my phone performed better instantly after installing Android 14, One UI 6.0, and November security update 2 months ago?

It's because I actually read the changelog for major Android updates. And I follow tech blogs about it. You don't need to believe me - a simple Google search will reveal all. This started a couple years ago.
