Both of mine have stopped working. I'm debating buying a new one. Is it worth it?
+1 yI use them 5 days a week at work and 7 days a week at home. Even though I own a Iphone Pro Max and an Ipad pro with keyboard, I find that I can do a lot more and much faster on my mac than any other device. Opening tabs and shifting between them, using worksheets or seeking information is so much better on a laptop than any other product.
As for your question, it depends on your needs and wants and whether your within the android or apple ecosystem. The reason I moved over the mac back in 2008 was the total headache of working with antivirus programs on a PC. Since the switch and owning several apple products; I can't see myself opting for a PC.
Before 2008, I went through a handfull of PCs, all with various of issues. My first mac I had for 10 years (and changed the battery once), before moving over to the Ipad pro for 2 years, and then bought the Mac Pro which I've had for three years now. This bad boy will last for at least another 7-10 years and I love it!

That depends on your use and volume etc.
Computers are far more comfortable and efficient to work on. Laptops etc are for max 30 mins work in my opinion.
And yes I have a desktop.

Laptops overheat and the batteries go bad quick, always pick a desktop over a laptop when possible.

+1 ySure, came through everything on the smart phone
10 Reply It depends on what you use it for. Computers are less and less common for personal use. I don’t even have a computer at all in my house. The few things I do at home I can generally do on an iPad on iPhone.
However, I have many computers at work. Computers are almost essential in a business environment. I’ve got computers running equipment, computers running software, computers used simply for running email and customer communication, office computers for administration, computers running security systems, and a computer server to manage them all.
The odd time I need to use a computer for personal use, or if I have more work than normal to finish, I just stay at work a little later than normal, or take a laptop from work home for a day or two.
If you seldom use a computer at home, it may not be worth a purchase. Alternatively, you can often find a good used computer for a decent price. Any basic computer can handle email, internet browsing, and word processing.

+1 yI use mine a lot, like in here. I dumped Apple for a PC as they are cheaper to replace when they give up the ghost. I've had 2 Apples and both became outdated within 5 years. And they were like $2,000 to buy, vs. $600 for a PC. They turned out to not be a good investment. I still have both out in my garage. I might get one out and see how it does in today's world.

G4 iMac, nice! What was the other one? Wait a few more years and then sell them to a collector.

@DryGermanGuy Some Flat Screens do seem to sell on eBay. I don't know why as they can't be updated without current compatible software for them which Apple no longer makes. I kept mine because it had a large iTunes file that I used to make my own music CDs with. But now cars use thumb drives for their music and today's cars will play them.

I seem to remember that you can migrate the iTunes library to another computer, even to Windows, ever since iTunes for Windows came out. I still have my PowerBooks. Loved them to bits! :-)

@DryGermanGuy iTunes for Windows? Why have I never heard that? Wouldn't help as I have no CD burner on my desktop.

Just use wireless or a wired Ethernet connection to transfer data between computers. Or a simple 16 GB USB stick. - +1 y
@DryGermanGuy Would that 16 GB hold 3,000 songs? Plus, I don't think you can transfer data from an Apple to a Windows. They are different operating systems. I tried playing a CD of music from my Apple on my desktop and they won't play.
- +1 y
3000 songs should be between 12 and 15 GB. You could always buy a bigger stick, up to 1 TB.
You can always transfer data between different OSs, that's what network standards are for (e. g SMB/Samba). I have used shared networks for years.

A standard. mp3 file is the same. mp3 file on Windows, on MacOS, on Linux, on UNIX, etc. Just the software to play them is different.
A burned CD/DVD also has the same standards for the most part. If you drag on drop the disc icon into an open instance of VLC player (or a similar program) it behaves the same on both systems.
+1 yNot quite, yet I'd like to have a Tower Computer however there's just no proper set up, times gotten on and also just, everything seems now an app suited that almost makes computers as in personal computers obsolete, besides work computers or hospital computers or factory computers, it's all just smartphones or tabs now and not the drink lol that's a former drink tab

RGB is definitely a must in a gaming rig.
+1 yI have a scanner / printer copier. There are things that are much easier done on at least a notebook. I wouldn't want to make a resume or a formal letter off of anything else. Also it's much easier to get around and in some cases more possibilities off certain sites without a cell phone. It just depends on convenience and needs.

+1 yI am a computer junkie. My wife and both my kids are on their stupid phones like I am on the computer. I only use the phone for messages and calls. I don't game on my computer, I have a PS5 for that. I enjoy a nice troll, porn on tap, and sending cock pictures to girls online.

If you're like me... buy a new computer brauh.
00 Reply469 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. Are you kidding? I have 2 businesses and several side jobs, and I use computers for all of them. I have 3 computers in just this room, all actively working on things.
32 ReplyI use a laptop all the time. I only use my phone for calls, texting, photos and a few apps, but never social media.
20 ReplyI use mine which I got about 4 years ago after my old computer of 7 years stopped working. I actually use my desktop for printing paperwork and scanning papers and such. I have a laptop as well but rarely use just for updates and stuff.
20 ReplyYeah & I'd rather have a computer than a phone tbh.
