picture 2 i vhange the order, stuff i use top row other stuff lower.
i personalize mouse clicking speed on each new computer.
i dont buy cloud because i use skiff.
i don't uninstall stuff but... after a few months when as common it slows down, then i go to apps. order by size uninstall some big ones and then defragment the storage memory.
nowadays defrag is often done on scedule without user asking. so after deleting video, can wait a week and see if it was "last defrag" even without activated.
1. configure firewall. block everything that goes outside, allow just few programs you're using access to internet. "Malwarebytes windows firewall control" is a useful tool for this task and it's free.
2. deactivate windows 11 defender with registry entries, permanent real time scan costs a lot of battery life and performance and is unnecessary. There are videos how to do that on YT.
3. Install Autorun64 from MS systeminternals and check regularly what starts automatically with windows. Deactivate auto updater and unnecessary services
Today windows demands more IT knowledge than most mainstream linux OS installations. Especially configuring windows firewall isn't easy for people without basic knowledge about how networks work.
Either Install Linux Mint Virginia, or stick on win7 with Shadow Defender and Tiny wall Firewall!
Probably though after some consideration, I would dual boot win 10 and then add Linux Mint Virginia.
I do not like win 11

I debloated mine and disabled a lot of the menu stuff and pinned similar folders like i had in windows 7. I actually like it. Although my favorite windows was windows 98 i wish they can bring the classic start menu and those really cool themes. Windows 98 was by far my favorite windows version.
sell it and buy a 2013+ macbook pro.
or smash it with a hammer, curse out Bill Gates, and buy above...
Oh simple, I run my script that cleans it all up.
I can, because I made my own custom Manjaro ISO for a while. On Linux I have to deal with the fact they are replacing pulseaudio so I have to port my config to pipewire somehow or constantly revert that on every distro I install. I also gotta deal with the fact they no longer compile GPU acceleration by default so I either have to put up with inefficient video decoding, use a distro I dislike that does compile it with the extra option or compile it myself. And of course with X11 going away ill be forced to use Wayland which also breaks a bunch of stuff and then forces me to use Pipewire to fix that.
Yeah... real nice. Gave up on it for now and am just cruising on Windows 10 with the cleanup script.
Am I the only one who actually uses a lot of that stuff?
Install a fresh copy of windows so I don't have to deal with the hassle of removing all the preinstalled bloatware. Luckily my gaming PC didn't come with bloatware.
My laptop came with Windows10. I'm regularly prompted to install Windows11 but I never have. I figure Windows10 is working okay, why rock the boat?
Get a more computer-savvy person to figure it.
