Tech question, do you think I should buy a new laptop?

I have been using MacBook Air 2015 for 8 years now, do you think I should upgrade to a new one? It has a battery drain issue and 2 keys are broken and it has some heating issue.

Yup. The M1 MacBooks are a good price now since the M2 ones were released. But you don't need an M2 unless you do a lot of heavy creative stuff

Remember tho. The M2 ones are newer. So the odds are, it’ll last longer (if you take good care of it) even tho it’s more expensive.

Battery drain issue and 2 keys being broken would personally drive me crazy. So personally, yes. Tho it’s truly up to you. Others can’t really make that decision for you, since it’s too dependent on you and how you feel about it.


Maybe there is something you’d prefer to spend your money on. Maybe the keys and battery you can deal with. Maybe it’s driving you insane and you want to get a new one. Those are all factors to consider. Maybe you want to try to take it in to get repaired to save some money. All factors you have to weigh.

Yes but get a gaming laptop not a overpriced trash MacBook. The only reason people buy them are because they are status symbols but if compare MacBook hardware to a gaming laptop it's much weaker. Don't buy a status symbol.
