Should I buy a computer if I want a lap top instead?

My dads company is doing their annual computer sale soon, you can buy a $10,000 company computer for under $200. But the problem is I prefer MacBooks which cost $1500 because I like to work in different rooms in my house and might work at a school too if I continue my studies now that I have a BA, you can also take your MacBook on vacations with you but you can’t do that with a stationary computer, on the other hand, it’s $100 for a $10,000 computer; what do you think?

It will probably end up sitting unused collecting dust.
Even though it is a bagin, if you don't use it then it wasn't a bargain.
On the other hand if you bought it, and ended up using it and didn't like it you could possibly flip it and make a few bucks.

You need computing devices that meet your needs, so unless for some reason you don't have the money for the MacBook, get the laptop. I know it's tempting to save that much money, but it is a false economy if it can't travel with you when you need it.

What kind of computer do you get for 10,000 dollars? I prefer a desktop because it is upgradeable and easier to work on. Besides I was never a MAC fan. But if you feel like you need the portability of a laptop then that should ne your choice.

It’s a computer with engineering capacities so it contains software beyond Microsoft word or Excel.

What the heck makes it worth $10k? Are there a lot of licensed programs on there? Or does it have really good hardware? I’m curious because I would shell out $100 for for a solid desktop, I built my last PC and already have my next build I want.

Can't you buy the computer and sell it? Or sell parts of it individually.
That's what I would do. that's a 10'000% gain on your investment, it's insane to pass on that! But of course that's only possible, if you are indeed able to sell it/ the company allows you to.
