I think when the Internet first came out, it was very hard to use and most people did not put the effort into learning how to use it. Now it's easy and nearly everyone has internet. Also cell phones are more common, even very poor people have iPhones now. It used to be a luxury to have a generic cell phone, even if it had no other capacity than phone call. Back then they did not have YouTube and the only entertainment you had if you wanted to watch an animated story was the movie or the T. V. set.
@jennifer_bloom Beautifully crafted answer
Access to entertainment. More shows, more movies, more entertainment period.
Gps is amazing in general.
My dad was talking about when he was younger they had actual big ass maps they had to pull out lol.
Access to music or podcasts at all times.
The fact I can do all of my banking on my phone.
@mandyfire98 GPS, entertainment, shows, movies, games, no big ass maps is a bonus too lmao.
Okay I agree with everything you said however I do want to say…. Banking on the phone I see as a huge risk, other than everything I agree with. Pretty good, you do you.
Everything online can be a risk.
@mandyfire98 true
There are plenty of things I like that are conveniences, but I'd give it all away to get rid of technology and media around the world.
I like that I can order groceries online and communicate with anyone from anywhere in the world in a second.
@HawkPerception Good good, cool cool.
Communication is way easier and faster now.
Indeed it is.

Yeah, I'm Team Internet. Love it or hate it, it has made things so much easier. Need groceries? Fill your cart and order them. Want to watch a new movie without waiting for someone else to return it? Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+. etc. Need to look up a phone number for a local business? You don't need to thumb through a phone book. Want to talk with someone on the other side of the world? Guess what? It's free. Want to chat with your granddaughter on the other side of the country once a week? Hello, FaceTime. Want to get something done without waiting on hold for 45 minutes? Um, well, actually we're still working on that... :)
The point is the Internet has revolutionized our lives. It's broken so many barriers to information, to communication, to learning platforms. Of course it's used for negative things, but it's also made a lot of things accessible that haven't been before.
So, even though I grouse about it sometimes, I really am thankful for it!
Smart homes!! Even our garden irrigation system is part of it. Being able to turn dinner on to cook while driving home... check the security system while on vacation... crank up air conditioner before getting home so it feels perfect when we walk in the door, with our favorite music already playing. Ours is hard wired so it's more dependable than wireless. What's not to like?
@Caroline91 I’ve been living my life all wrong 😦
@MisterWack Oh! I'm so sorry to hear that, Wacky... Well, I have faith in you to get it right!! Or is that left? Up? Down? Oh, I know... Second star to the right and straight on till morning!!
@Caroline91 THANK YOU! 🤣🤣🤣
The Internet... but not all of it. Some of it is total garbage.
GPS (actually GNSS now) ... makes getting around so much easier.
@AviatorTom A lot of GPS (now GNSS, saying it so I don’t end up getting in a street fight with you lmao) answers, very impressed actually.
Some internet, yeah. Garbage being extremists, trolls, bots, sex bots, hackers, scammers, impersonators, pedos, etc.
LED lighting. As a cheapskate, I love only using a fraction of the power for lighting.
GPS and cellphones are pretty great. Although, I definitely care more about having GPS than I do a cellphone.
@ProbablyClueless , noice!
Streaming services, no longer stuck with cable for watch my favorite shows.
I could have weed delivered right to my front door.
@lorenzomichael I mean…. You could probably have that 30-40 years ago however end up serving a long prison sentence. Either way, brilliant! 👍
I don't think I can answer it, but I do love the fact that us kids don't live with walkie talkie cell phones like Zack from saved by the bell. lmao.
True true.
Well give it time and you’ll be happy & proud of other things that are absolutely wild compared to 30-40 years ago.
yup. lol. I'll wait.
I would say the internet. Email, telephone calls, video chat, on line purchases, and streaming channels were unimaginable 40 years ago.
@exitseven Very great examples! Didn’t hear anyone else mention telephone & email & video chat & online purchase & streaming networks. Very good, very good and adequate.
@exitseven Yeah, I learned that from watching TV so definitely we are more connected than ever and is amazing!
Internet! 😌😃
@SeriouslyNotSerious
Good choice, good choice.
Anything specific about the internet?
(I’m not being condescending or judgmental, just curious if there is a specific reason why it won your heart over)
Thank you, @MisterWack. 😊 What I like about the internet is learning & talking to different people, like you. You are very respectful, by the way! :")
@SeriouslyNotSerious You’re welcome, I love that part of the internet too. Thank you, I tend to be on the respectful side even if people are difficult. You are very wise, kind, and must say very friendly too. Hope you learn a lot more soon! I sure will especially about history & science.
Love / hate with smart phones.
@DrPepper12 You and me both lol.
fast internet
oh... and streaming with no commercials, and a pause button...
that's a bless to me
@NathanDavis The pause button is a pretty cool ‘feature’ ngl lol
