How long could you survive if hypothetically someone took your computer and replaced windows with Linux?

I use a hot-boot Linux every now and then. But I don't think I'd want to use it exclusively.

But how long would I survive with Linux only? Forever. It would be far from ideal and would take some adjustment, but it's not the end of the world.

Most likely the next time I reinstall my OS I will dual boot, maybe triple boot. For backward compatibility, I'd like to have the oldest OS that will run on my hardware. I have old computers when I need them, but I'd rather not have so much clutter.

If you use a android phone, you are already using linux because android is based on linux. So it probably would not be hard to adjust too it but getting some programs to work on linux can be trickier than windows and you may have to learn some command lines but it always a good thing to know in life.

I have done it myself before on purpose on my 7-8 year old cheap laptop because it could no longer run windows. It was fine, it taught me things actually and I made use of wine and wine tricks. I used Ubuntu.

Since I am already familiar with computers, it would take less time than it took for me to learn windows. I believe one month would suffice. In the meantime, I have my cell phone.

I'd reinstall windows back. I am a proffesional sysadmin so thats no big deal for me. Got an offline backup of all the drivers. I tried Linux for multiple years and its decent, but it can't do everything I want it to do.

Fine is the right word for it, but as a windows power user I just can't replace Windows and Linux has been getting worse. If you don't need proper remote desktop, and you don't need all those windows specific applications, and you don't need perfect multi monitor support, and you don't mind wayland breaking stuff, and you don't mind not being able to play every game out there while also having hardware that works well with Linux then its perfectly usable as a daily driver. I am not that person unfortunately as much as I'd rather use Linux on principle.

Indefinitely, most games work under it and there is always WINE. I could probably cope with going back to a CLI if I had to.

Really depends on the game, some games have native support and work great on Linux while others require the use of wine which leads to games being either, really buggy or not working at all.

I did that so much in my 20s. Came home utterly plastered and immediately logged into an MMO and started level grinding while utterly pissed...
