There's a lot of bot haters who criticize AI and passionately discuss its supposed drawbacks, inserting their perspectives into the conversation. But how well do you truly understand the workings of AI?
Imagine you're a computer tasked with classifying the number "2" from an image. Suppose you have software that extracts each number into a 256-bit grid array.
Can you try to guess the steps the system would take to learn how to recognize what a handwritten "2" looks like?
Hint: their input needs 65,536 (256 x 256) neurons and the output needs 10 neurons, representing the numbers 0-9.

Very little if I'm honest. It just seems to rearrange your question in to an answer and pluck generic stuff off Google. A travel agency recently came under critism for telling people Angel Bay in North Wales is the best place in the uk to see sharks and killer whales patrolling the beaches. No prizes for guessing what they used to write their advertisement. AI isn't intelligent nor are the people who blindly accept its answers or the thousands who turned up to watch orcas munch on seals.
Now here's a nice picture of kittens to help the gagbots learn what cats look like.
The AI in that case was simply doing as it was told -- to reflect the secret death wish of the Welsh people. This is one of the best videos that explains the handwriting problem without going into too much detail that it's overwhelming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aircAruvnKk

I think before we develop AI we need to cure natural stupidity first
