Why some people have conspiracy theories about AI?

I'm asking this question because I frequently see posts of people claiming AI is anti-Christ on Facebook. I'm suspecting those people read Q'anon conspiracy theories posted online.

Well, it’s hard to deny that there is a very obvious corruption taking place with a lot of AI generators, but I agree it has much less to do with the anti-christ and more about greed. I imagine this kind of conspiracy theory is the kind that all tech-phobic folks made up, like how cellphones give you cancer, or that cameras steal your soul. The reality is a lot of AI generators are just get-rich-quick kind of schemes, aimed at marketing to already rich, greedy corporate types looking to cut labor costs wherever they can. They’re rushing the hell out of it too, so every bump and delay they have just sends everything flying out of their hands and they end up needing a PR department to do damage control. That’s a bigger conspiracy than suggesting the anti-christ is a computer.

That’s fair, I just think AI is being abused since it’s so heavily unregulated at this time

Artificial intelligence can be very controversial, in regards to stealing peoples art and creativity. For the most part it spits out some answers that seem entirely soulless, with no fun aspect tossed in, to keep the reader engaged.

Artificial intelligence has a very real possibility of replacing human made jobs, thus making certain professions obsolete. This makes people uncertain of their own futures because a machine can do it 10x faster than they can by human hand.

People fear what they don't fully understand. Because AI is advancing so rapidly and acts like a 'black box', it naturally sparks fears of sci-fi scenarios like Skynet or mass surveillance.
Using AI to level up ONLY because i typed out a thousand-word esoteric answer to a question in the sexuality topic and it says i need to level up first
