I think the cases we hear about are more outliers than the reality. I think most adults know that AI like ChatGPT or Grok is just a glorified search engine with a programmed customer service attitude, and no one “relies” on it anymore than they do on google.

i think the importance for our overall societal technological progress can hardly be overstated. this is a huge milestone like the wheel, the smelting of metals, electricity, the internet. this already is a huge game changer even though it's litterally still in it's infancy stage. obviously there's gonna be a dark side and big challenges to it as with all the great inventions.

I think it is overhyped. Companies just throw AI around because they know it sells. Meanwhile, any computer is simply AI, just not always the machine learning kind.

I do not think it will be nearly the game changer that investors want you to think. It can write stories and do research but it lacks human intuition that is required to be really successful.

I read a story about someone who poured out their heart to what they thought was a chat bot, only to find that the real person they were chatting with contacted their boss because they were really worried about him!
