Thoughts on the mpox situation?

The monkeypox virus had made a lot of noises on social medias in the last days, do y’all think we getting a lockdown for it this fall/winter?

I think a lot of people have been desensitized to pandemics after covid. The extreme right wing did a lot of damage with their stances on this country protecting itself from deadly diseases whether it be protesting as something as innocent as wearing a mask to protesting vaccines on the whole.

Even if we were to be asked to stay in place and protect others, those who live selfish lives will protest it or straight up refuse to do it, putting more lives at risk.

I think it is a serious issue but it won't get super severe anytime soon. If anything I'd say it will get worse in the coming months and continue to spread just like covid did

It’s social media pushing it, there was nothing much said about it when the event happened in 2022. It works for gullible people I guess.

The US.

During the first wave of covid a lot of stores were shut down, but there were no lockdowns, and all other waves they kept stores open and did nothing different.
