My friend wants me to buy his Samsung UHD 4k 65 Inch tv for $500?

And he says I'm missing out and that my HDtv doesn't have ray tracing or hdr and that I'm barely getting any of the benefits from owning the new consoles also he said there's been so many advanced in tech and that I've been suffering for no reason and that my TV only runs 30 frames a sec I have my RCA HDtv LCD 2012 tv and I don't want to buy it what should I do?

I'd pass, that's too expensive for a used Tv. Your friend is right about your TV not having HDR, but he is lying bout it not having ray tracing. Ray tracing has nothing to do with your display, and everything to do with the game and the hardware it's running. Your friend is just trying to trick you into over buying for his TV. Just tell your friend your not interested and your happy with your current TV. FYI, you can get a new, Samsung 65" TV from BestBuy for $470.

I see however I don't want to buy it yet because my current tv is still working and it has great picture quality for a HDtv also I have taken good care of it and it has two res 720p and 1080p

Hardware wise, the Samsung TV is better then your 12 year old RCA TV, but that is not your RCA TV being a bad TV, that's just simply TV's from 12 years ago not being technically advanced as TVs today. I wouldn't worry about your friends Samsung TV being better then your RCA TV, only thing that matters, is if the RCA TV fits your needs and your happy with it. I'm still using a blu-ray player I bought 11 years ago for $30, it works perfectly fine and I'm perfectly happy with it, and don't care that it's only 1080p when my TV supports 4K. In the end, just give a hard pass on your friends over priced TV, and stick with your RCA TV if it still suits your needs and your perfectly happy with it.

I wouldn't worry about someone saying the Samsung is way better, any fairly new TV will be better then most TV's from 12 years ago, but it doesn't mean you have to go out and buy a new TV, especially if your perfectly happy with your current TV.

HD holds up very well today, in fact most TV services and many live streaming services still use HD, so you'll be hard pressed to see a difference between a HD TV and 4k TV.

I've still got 5 tube t. v.'s and two flat screens from about 20 years ago. As long as they work, I don't see a problem. If you wanna waste your money on garbage you'll have to replace in a year or 3. that's up to you.

Another thing you have "worry" about is that, in most cases, there's a camera in the frame. T. V. is watching YOU! Older t. v.'s don't have that, as far as I know.

$500 for a tTv like that is a great price as long it’s not very old. Also that TV is way better than your 12 year old RCA and he is right about all the benefits and tech that the Samsung has. If you got the funds I take him up on it until he sell it to someone else.

Don't listen to him, $500 is not a great price for a TV that can be had new cheaper. Secondly he is wrong about about all the features the Samsung has, it does not have ray tracing like your friend says, no TV or display has tray tracing, it's solely dependent on the game and the hardware the game is running, heck a TV from 50 years ago will have no trouble displaying a game that has ray tracing.
