This is my personal opinion but I would say that the late 1950s to early1960s were the decades where manufacturers had the best ideas on how a car should look like.
Take those 2 examples here
3 wheeled 1960 Messerschmitt bubble car (200cc)1958 Brütsch-Mopetta
If I had to chose one of those, then I would settle for the 1958 Brütsch-Mopetta. You can tow it inside and store it in your apartment.
2010 to 2019 ish, you have decent tech, such as HUD, decent sat nav, radar cruise control, good turbo petrol engine putting out over 300bhp and over 400bhp. Active suspension that allowed different suspension choices when driving. The emissions controls from late 2019 had not kicked in. Cars in the 1970’s and 1980’s were either rust buckets or not that great to drive, there were some exceptions but not many.
1960s some look good but only really the expensive and iconic ones, there were some average family ones sucked, carburettors, rubbish suspension, under powered, poor road handling, no disc brakes all round, no power steering as standard, limited to radio for music, very basic cars and some are really crappy to drive - I have driven some.
