I am starting to think a lot of people do.
Do ya? π€

Internet, people, books, magazines, radios, TVs, etc. it doesn't matter. I don't look at where the message is coming from but I take a look at the message by itself and analyze it.

If Einstein says something stupid, of course it's stupid and not genius just because his Einstein. I focus on what is said not who is saying it.

The place that has the most propaganda is corporate print and broadcast media. Their job is to keep people ignorant and to tell them what to think. They don't want people thinking for themselves.
I absolutely do not trust everything I hear or see on the internet, but it's the only place where you can find unbiased information and a variety of opinions.
I'm willing to consider all information, compare notes, and make my own assessments.
I'm not intimidated by the phrase "conspiracy theory". In fact, when government or msm calls something a conspiracy theory, it peaks my interest. After all, it was the CIA that coined the term in order to stigmatize skeptics.
I consider conspiracy theorists to be investigators and fact checkers. They are skeptical of official narratives. And a great many so-called conspiracy theories have turned out to be true.20 Reply- Anonymous(25-29)16 d
only if it makes sense
if the internet tells you there are 53 genders, should we believe it?
now if the internet tells you someone just tried to assassinate Trump again, should we believe it?
again, that's when a line has to be drawn somewhere

You would be stupid to believe everything on the internet. Like medical information, always check the national library of medicine for accuracy.
Romance is a matter of pick and choose of what feels right.
Politics is all opinionated, when it is without based sorce evidence.
When it's about a gender/sex anatomy... just go look up biology, i have seen so much incorrect anatomy assumptions20 Reply - 14 d
Nah, I know someone who was on a reality TV show and he said they tell you what to say to make the show more interesting, and even when politicians speak on the news I always question if what they are saying is true and I will only believe it when I see it.

It depends. user generated wiki or Wikipedia, even for fiction, fandom i don't belisome.
but If someone actually has their own website that is someone i can trust.
Reference series big bang theory.
10 Reply 398 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. No, almost none of it. I think many people tend to believe anything that agrees with their prejudices, like immigrants eating other people's pets, or Trump winning the 2020 election, or that global warming isn't real.
10 ReplyIβm the one who believes some things I see on the internet. The internet is really a shallow place and people over there, just have their own opinions. itβs hard to say whatever you want in person though. But to answer your question, yes I believe 50% of what I see on the web
10 ReplyMy motto is to question everything that I experience.
I can't claim strict adherence to my own motto, though.
After all, I'm human.10 ReplySome sites are more reliable than other, obviously I don't believe everything I read.

Thats like, the earliest rule of the internet us NOT to believe everything. That rule is as old as Dial-up lol
20 Reply Nope. And I am especially hip to all the AI models now on Instagram. You can tell they're completely fake no matter how smooth and good they look.
00 ReplyIf it is from mainstream media, it is a lie unless it is the time, the weather, or the results of sporting events. Otherwise, nothing from mainstream media should be believed.
00 Reply- 16 d
That would drive me crazy. One says they're right, the next post will say they're wrong. My belief would change like the weather.

Depending on the source, I can safely disregard anywhere from 50 to 90% of what I see, hear or read on the internet.
10 Reply - 16 d
I think people believe the first thing they see that they *want* to believe. Confirmation bias is strong today.
20 Reply - 16 d
