How do you feel about requests to implement push notifications on your computer or phone?

You know - those constant requests for permission to push stuff on to your desktop - do you ever allow it, and if so, by who - and why?

there are both, computer settings and also (depending on your) browser settings that will just control these for you so you won't have to see them ever again

in some cases, there's particular software that blocks these and other pests too, like ads and trackers... lol

They can be good for sports events or stories/news you want to keep up to date on, but don't want to sit and watch.

Other than that, I tend to block.

I usually don't know where my phone is, and I'm not always in the same room as my computer, so they're pointless. I never allow them. Except I haven't turned that off on Mastodon... TODO

I have disabled it for everything but the chat programs. I don't want to be constantly bothered by all the blings and dings.

I do not allow them, and it aggravates me to have to deal with and reject them.
