Back in the day the internet still in it's infancy was once unregulated and you could be as toxic and say anything to wanted freely

Yes, and it wasn't that bad as BBS moderators knew most of the people they were interacting with back then.

These days you could be talking to anyone anywhere and they couldn't give less of a shit about what you think.

Also, back then, there was no mobile phones and you had one computer for the whole house to use. So you couldn't be on it long.
