How DUMB can AI be?

After NBA star Klay Thompson had a horrible night shooting, amid reports that he was "shooting bricks", X/Twitter's AI started reporting that he was vandalizing houses.

AI isn't "clever" or "dumb" it's just code and datasets. Not properly coding the algorithm and checking the data sets is what results in fuckery.

Think of it like Roomba. You see the dirt and expect it to hoover it all, but it starts where it starts and does all sorts of areas before getting to the main parts. It eventually figures out where the "high traffic" parts are, and works on those first and often.

This is the essence of "supervised learning" and is very expensive in AI. Hence why a lot of AI models are jumping up unfinished to the public in the hope they will save that cost to the company by using the model and "teaching" it faster and cheaper.

This is old news from April. But you know what, I blame Americans and their stupid slang. "Shooting bricks", really? I had to look up what it meant myself. Why couldn't they just say, "he had a bad game" or "he wasn't making his shots"

In my opinion, this is a great troll by the AI of how ridiculous American English is. I feel all non-American people would be confused by that. What happened to talking normal?

Similar thing happened here when some hotel chain used AI to write a report about a beach. According to AI tourists flock to watch killer whales and sharks and shared feeding yards from the shore. Of course no body with a brain checked before it was published and hundreds rushed to a bay barely a few feet deep to witness absolutely fuck all.

The problem isn't AI it's idiots using it as a short cut and trusting it without question.
