That's just reddit coined bullshit. "emotional incest" and "parentification" aren't real legal or textbook terms.
So called "parentification" is supposed to be about parents burdening their kids with childcare duties. Which in this day and age isn't really something anyone can get away with, unless home schooling. Kids looking after kids isn't something either kid is going to accept, as it's how kids are.
As for "emotional incest" it's basically Freudian interpretations by 12 year olds.
Might have to explain that more? Like a mommy's boy giving his mom more attention and care then his wife?
Mom always wins!
I agree.
Define emotional incest.
From what I’ve read in the internet and shared stories of what people called emotional incest when a parent treats their child like their partner rather than like their daughter or son. They vent to them about personal things that they shouldn’t be with their child. Like problems with their marriage, finances etc
So it’s incest without any physical sexual interaction. It’s emotional.
Thank you. That’s interesting.
That does not sound like incest at all.
