What phone do you recommend?

Need a new phone. Thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE which is on sale right now for $822 down from about $1,200 which I think is a very good deal. (These are NZ prices).

Any other recommendations? I Would like something reliable, has good battery life and a good camera. I prefer to stick with android as I'm not a fan of iPhones.

Tbh I just seen you say a bunch of letters and numbers lol I don’t keep up at all with phones; I would say just go for the one that is most cost friendly/efficient and has the basics you absolutely need for a phone. Like consider what you use your phone most for, and how well the two, (you ideally narrow down your options/choosing to, carry this out.

Narrow it down to two so you can feel more decided in your choice. Or if all else fails just go for most

visually appealing one lol 😄👍

I've still got and love my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 512 gb with a 2½ tb MicroSD card. I've had it for more than 6 years now. It's a phenomenal phone. I've also got a Note 20 512 gb waiting in the wings to switch over to for when (or if) I finally retire my Note 9. The Note 20 is the only Samsung phone that has both 5G and the MicroSD card option. They did away with the MicroSD card after the Note 20, and once (or if) I eventually switch over from my Note 9 to the Note 20, I'll refuse to move on from my Note 20 until Samsung brings back the MicroSD card feature.

Yeah I'm kinda bummed about there not being extra storage in any modern phones. I'll just have to be vigilant about deleting photos that I don't need and moving things into my pc

Buy an unlocked Pixel 9 and it won't come with all the junk you will otherwise get, and you can choose any carrier you want. Itis a better phone than the one you are considering.

Mm no they don't because I can read and understand specs of phones. A phone with 2GB of RAM and an 8MP camera is not going to do as well as a phone with 8GB RAM and 50MP camera. As I said in my post i needed a phone that was reliable and has a good battery life and a good camera. The cheapest phone does not provide this. The cheapest one i could have gotten that met all those requirements was only $100 less than the phone I ended up getting. I decided $100 more for more storage space, better RAM and better camera was worth it.

Also all sales reps hate me because I do my research before coming into stores to buy and don't fall for up sales or anything like "we'll throw in a wall charger, phone case and screen protector for half price!" No thanks I can get all not those for a fraction of the cost elsewhere. But I'll still ask for a cheeky discount.

Always a Samsung! I have the Galaxy S20 FE and after 5 years, it still works like the first day! I use it daily, i watch a lot of Youtube and still I have to charge every 2. day plus it fell down a million timeees but no scratch at all.

I would not spend more than ca 200 in your currency. The problem with these phones is that they are outdated quickly. And after all, each phone does the same as a show-off status symbol.

That phone is rated 78/100 by Consumer Reports. Higher rated ones are the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (256GB) at 87/100 and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra at 86/100.

I've had Samsung phones for years. Good battery life and durable. Make sure you get a good protective case, like an Otter box for it.
