You must have moderators, else you will not have a website/forum up for long.
Not only must the content be within laws. But a lot of work goes into making sure content is in the right place, properly formatted, and within scope, as well as hundreds of other tasks.
As for "too offensive" 1 child porn pic could get you shut down and sued. So could 1 "too offensive" comment being reported to the authorities.
Think of all websites and forums being "parties" - if you're too rowdy and offensive, then the law can shut you down.
If you don’t moderate, sooner or later someone will post illegal things, maybe even something that could get yourself in trouble. I have seen it myself.
You don't have to use the site if you disagree with the rule.
“Offensive – Our caring community does not support malicious content, people come to GirlsAskGuys to get help, not to get hurt. This includes posts that would be considered offensive to either a large group of people or attacks aimed at other specific members on the site. While we encourage lively debate, posts that antagonize other members are not allowed. Examples: “You’re an idiot.” “Go kill yourself.” “I want to rape and kill all women!””
Absolutely. In fact, I'd make it one of my top priorities to protect my members from harassment and ensure the moderation is as objective as possible, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case on this site. Both for ethical and practical reasons; I mean you don't want your site to turn in a digital ghost town

depends on why its offensive
i'd make the rules pretty clear on whats allowed or not tho. even make it so its shown on your screen when creating a post to easily check lol
If the website had any clue on what being offensive actually means, I might. This website fails miserably at that.
Yes, not to protect people's feelings but to defend the integrity of the site.
