Several of my buddies from school/uni had small Peugeots, really solid cars, cheap to maintain. I can't say the same for the rusting Citroen models I knew. Renault was probably in-between. And Peugeot still brings some interesting car designs:

The only brand I don't know is Microcar. I don't know anything about cars, but in France, recent French cars don't necessarily have a good reputation.

German cars, on the other hand, are always well regarded.
