Is AccuWeather’s forecast of 12–24 Midwest tornadoes tonight realistic?

I'll second that forecast based on future radar and other computer modeling. The isolated super-cells the computer models are producing are SCARY, because they are perfect for turning into EF3+ tornadoes. Recommend anyone who lives in the area begin precautions immediately and know where your cell phone or radio is too, in case the television goes out.

This does not include the tornado threat in Texas and Oklahoma today. That's a separate event.

The low-end estimate might have verified here. I don't know. There was one particularly bad cell which might have produced several tornadoes by itself, and we had 8 simultaneous tornado warnings at one point last night.
