Are there any high schoolers here? I'm curious about censorship in HS in the age of smartphones?

Back in MY day, my school would block YouTube and other websites they deemed inappropriate. Now ocassionally, someone would figure out the password. But this was 15 to 20 years ago, when no one had smart phones. Now with so many teenagers these days owning smart phones, even if the school blocks certain sites, they can just access them by using their phone data. So I imagine it's much more difficult now to keep teenagers off certain websites.

Anyone have any insight?

You didn't have smart phones while at high school? You aren't that older?
They don't do anything to what is your phone.
Just simply you aren't allowed it out in school without it being confiscated for the day, and of course you could get away with going on it when they aren't looking.
Schools have being getting stricter upon it from what I've heard but it's pretty much just that.
It's on parents to give them a phone and put restrictions on it, which ya know does nothing from parents just don't bother or they get around it anyway.

Well for them to get away with it and use after school. One day they'll probably make it illegal for kids to have smart phones, treating it like cigs. But ya know we always have cigs somehow lol
Same way those restrictions on computers never worked.. it was and without a doubt in my mind still is super simple to surpass it or find things that haven't been censored.
In fact I'd say school helped me find some darker stuff that I wouldn't of know about if I was just watching what I watch anyway.
A small example is Eminem censored but I found some Russian rap that... was way more graphic.

Really it's all redundant, only thing that actually works is preventing usage of phone in class cause the teacher will spot you and is it a distraction. Anything else is pointless ineffective restrictions, and possibly worse introducing more fringe content that's not regulated and mainstream.

In my country any kind of electronic devices are banned in schools. You are not allowed to use them inside school. Teachers collect any kind of electronic device you can carry every morning then give them back to you when you are about to leave. When I was in high school I was keeping my phone at home.

Not recently...

But some can lie... hard to tell..

Some I can based on how they write.
