I really don't think any kid under 16 should have a cellphone or a social media account of any kind.

Do I think they'll ban them? Absolutely not. The money is too good.

They use poison in our foods quite literally slowly killing people. So what's a little mental health or learning lost? Schools are built to deconstruct families, so mom and dad can both work for the government tax farm. As an 1800's technology, they are both outdated and irrelevant. They should be shut down immediately.

Fairly soon, AI will be smarter than all of humanity combined. Then it won't matter what humans have in their tiny brains as stored knowledge. So humanity is either screwed, or will have the closest thing to utopia we've ever had.

That would be true if Moore's held up. However, we are approaching the limit on the number of transistors on an integrated circuit. Therefore, unless we find another method. Over the years, many have predicted the death of Moore’s Law – an inevitable end to the innovation due to the constraints of present-day methods: You can make something smaller and smaller and smaller … until you can’t. Then, you must innovate in other ways.

Yes, definitely! There is no legitimate reason why any student needs them when he or she is at school. I didn't get my first mobile phone until I was already at university. They're a distraction, nothing more, and they've been shown to be addictive as well.

Yep. Tax payers spend money to educate children not to babysit them. When kids are in school, they should focus on learning. Teachers should provide instruction and assignments to promote learning and kids should spend their time following that instruction, asking questions, and completing those assignments, not playing on their cellphones.

They already did at my kid's school. Good grades, well behaved, no school issues, et cetera.

My older kid's school didn't ban them. That kid is a fucking retard. Got a girl pregnant at 17 and now he grinds all day for fast food places and she takes all that money. In school he was the exact opposite of his younger brother.

No, but they shouldn't be allowed for consistent use in classrooms. I think a student should be allowed to use it and only told to put it away if the teacher keeps seeing them use it for long spouts.

The reason being if they need to respond to parents about something or text a friend about a project due next class period. It doesn't take long to do that either.

They should ban standardised testing as well. Introduce more practical life skills like growing edible plants, cooking, how to do your own taxes and legal methods of avoidance.

Yes they are just a distraction to the kids and those around them. Even those who check sugar levels can do that with a monitor and don’t need their cellphone

No, they do not need a cell phone. It’s a huge distraction. In fact…it’s an addiction to some. I have seen it.

long time ago, Calculators were not allowed to be used on tests. When I was in school. Cell phones were not invented yet. Granted, they are an abused convenience by school children.

There are no emergencies and even in the unlikely event that there is, the school and even teachers have phones and they can handle it.
