It depends...
I love the idea of electric vehicles but for now the designs and the infrastructure in the Northeastern US just isn't where it needs to be for a total, one car solution.
And any "luxury" car is just throwing cash down the toilet. Luxury brands are over priced status symbols with a steep depreciation curve in the first 3 years. To top it all off, many luxury brands have the absolute worst reliability and durability in the industry. They are a pain in the ass to live with. Ask me how I know. I'd rather not be owned by my car, LOL.
Depends - most will be out of your price range. other models have a large wait time.
But before buying electric, you need to understand that it's not like you can just take it to an ordinary mechanic. You need to also get fitted with your own phase three charge point.
There are a lot of other extra costs that go with going electric. It is an absolute bastard on tyres, for example - it's worse than an overpowered sports car, and some models tyres are hard to find locally.
Hence I tend to recommend that if you don't live in a city, don't go electric.
Or buy an "ordinary" electric first, to get a feel for the technology and lifestyle change, before buying lux.
This is interesting
It's according to how much money you have. In most places you'll have to install a charging hookup at your home so your vehicle is charged for the next day. Also, is there the infrastructure for your car to be charged while you're at work? When you have to drive long distances: if you need a charge anywhere you are?
This is the giant problem with electric cars. Until there are charging stations as available as gas stations and fast-charging cars, that will take a full charge in 10 to 15 minutes, electric cars are mostly useful in city drives where you aren't far from your home charger.
They're more expensive to buy and a replacement battery costs thousands of dollars. The cars are also more expensive.
If tomorrow every car in America was electric, the price of the cars and batteries were far less expensive, and there were enough power stations to charge all those cars without furthering pollution because we'd all gone nuclear and the infrastructure was plentiful, I'd say it's a reasonable change.
Don't believe that's true yet.
I think yes Luxury electric cars can be worth it if you want advanced tech, smooth performance, and lower running costs, but the upfront price and charging convenience are important things to consider.
You have a point of view, respect that.

Never again, bought one of the tesla, damn thing pissed me off so bad I got rid of it within 6 months. Damn thing had so many flaws, broken interior pieces, electrical gremlins etc.
Bought the damn thing new, cash deal, waited months and was very disappointed.
that really depends on how you define value or worth...
also... the meaning of "luxury" varies a lot
I don't think any luxury car is worth it unless you're buying it as an investment and keeping it shrink wrapped.
Which in 95% the cases wouldn't work as well...
No. Half price in 3 years
They are too expensive.
Troll.
