The technology especially with batteries to make electric cars as viable than ICE powered vehicles is still probably 10+ years away. My only issue with them is the recharge time when on a long journey. Love them or hate them we need to make the switch now so we can start to move towards a carbon negative lifestyle.
Their carbon footprint is still worse than my trucks. When they figure out part shipping/environmental damage (train/freight ships/semi) during building and battery issues (numerous), there were a couple others slipping my mind at this late hour… then they might become closer to worth it.
Didn’t that shipping company ban Electric Vehicles on their ships after that one caught fire and sunk?
@DarkWinterNights Did it really? Hadn’t heard that. I was talking about parts to be built.
It might just be used EV’s but we’ll see. It’s definitely a risk to consider. Lithium fires are much harder to control than gasoline.

@DarkWinterNights Oh wow. Those kids board toys that roll on two wheels w/batteries. They have been known to catch fire too. That would be awful with an expensive car.
Thanks for mgh.

Kind of. Good luck finding a refuelling station outside of the West Coast, though. Maybe they're good for European and Japanese residents, perhaps. Hybrids would be best.
I'm afraid it's gonna be our future.
Might be a good idea?
, but I'm not quite sold on it yet.

Maybe, but to a large degree, it is location-dependent. How much does gas cost in your area, and how much does electricity cost? How much do you drive? How much will the car payments be? How much does your travel cost now? There are many things to consider, m and it may not be worth it - or it might.
If you live in a city, you don’t travel outside the city very often, have a garage that can install a charging station and live in a temperate climate, they might be a good option. Otherwise gas or hybrid is the way to go.
Depends. If you do less than 200 miles a week then yes, it is worth it.
not ready for public consumption yet.
I'm not ready to buy one yet.
No, not even close.
Yes..
