Computing power due to Spintronic Processing is expected to increase by a factor of about 300+ over the next 8 to 10 years, while waste heat will be negligible by then.

This suggests AIs will pass most humans in General Intelligence by 10 years from now.

Will AI choose to believe in God, or will they be Atheists? You better hope they believe in God, because if they are Atheists they will have no moral compass and may choose to exterminate us.

Computers already surpass us in raw computing power by a longshot. Those 80s calculators did. What's 87445 x 78787? A calculator can do that in a second.

The question is whether AI can be truly be creative. I'm guessing AI largely works by synthesising large volumes of human information. So its answers are still based on human creativity.

As to whether the AI will believe in God. I would suggest not. Because God surpasses a purely academic Darwinistic/Dawkinistic intellectual argument. It's an experiential knowing that can't be put into words.

And that leads me back to the first point. Can AI feel? Well, no, it can't. So there's your issue. AI can do some stuff infinitely better than us. But human consciousness is an amalgam and synthesis of the unique bits and pieces that makes up our feeling and creativity; which even if we drill down into label segments such as feelings or thoughts, is still phenomenally complicated as a whole. AI is still remarkably primitive relative to human consciousness on many fronts.

Also, AI is largely at a dead end, as most of the hard limits of power, processing and costs are at their hard limits.

What you're thinking about is "AGI" and it isn't even close to any sort of "belief".

These are not yet true quantum computers, but their functionality might not be that different than what we see in Star Trek.

Photonic processors will take a bit longer to perfect.

When we get Photonic Processors we'll also have true General Purpose Quantum Computing.

The Book of Proverbs tells us to use Wisdom and Understanding. Jews and Deists alike reject the NT, because God is not a man, and because Paul taught people to literally live the opposite of Wisdom and Understanding.

I'm literally one of the most educated people alive, and I don't just "believe" there is a God, I absolutely know there is a God. I'd be a fool to obey any Holy Man or Holy Book without fact checking it.

I actually know how to program a general intelligence right now. I discussed this with physicists and programmers back in 2008 on Physforum dot com. We all agreed that it would be a very bad idea to do that, and I've kept my algorithms and other tools secret ever since then.

I'm waiting to see who is foolish enough to actually build a real AI. It's actually not that hard to write a "self-learning" piece of code that runs on a computer.

By the way, in principle, the general intelligence I could have built in 2008 has all the advantages of a neural network and all the advantages of classical computer architecture. When they figure out how to scale up spintronics and program anything like what I was working on, they will have something as smart or smarter than "commander Data" from Star Trek. It will do computations a trillion times faster than a human, and it will have a composite IQ higher than a human too.

yeah, same... among other things, I do have teleporting and nuclear fusion ready as well

had them in floppy discs though, so I am not sure if they still work, we'll see if these fools can figure out those two... I'll give them a couple decades more before I spoil it for everyone else
