Do you like to do browser cleanups with Chrome?

If you do this, be exceedingly careful. I suggest you don't do it at all. I did it about two weeks ago, and Chrome broke almost every login I have. I lost my ability to read the New York Times, the Washington Post, and to use ChatGPT effectively as well as many other sites. I am still having to pay for all of those sites, of course, but I can no longer use them, and I can't figure out any way to fix it. I've spent many hours trying, and I still can't fix any of it. Don't do browser cleanup with Chrome.

Yes, it's a very arduous process since I have about 10 different email accounts that I use for different purposes.

save what you can on a temporary drive. then do a system restore from your last checkpoint. start doing these checkpoints before any type of cleanup or new addition to your system.

I will go over the digital ruins like a forensic examiner and see what I can potentically recover, but I assume it will end up as a complete re-installation.

@DryGermanGuy so it turns out if you can find the email address and password that you use to get into a given site, you can restore it. I had to hire an IT guy this morning for $100 to do this all over my system.

It doesn't trash bookmarks. It trashes logins, and it does that only on Chrome.

Sounds like a browser setting if you’re using the right password. The easiest thing to do would be to save your bookmarks to your Google account, uninstall and reinstall chrome so the browser is using the default settings
