Am about to do one before I have surgery that's going to put me out of commission for two weeks. Can't lift anything more than 8 pounds (which would include the giant pitcher of iced tea on my fridge door... so have to only have it half full!!! ahahahaha) for 2-4 weeks. Can only walk for exercise for two weeks. This is giant difference for someone who mows her own lawn, waters her gardens back and front with water cans from the rain barrels around the house, sweeps the porch and sidewalks, prunes and plants... I'm starting fall plantings for the second garden of the year. Lettuces, spinaches, mustard greens...
So house cleaning and making ready to eat meals I can freeze are a top priority. Perfect excuse for deep cleaning everything and keeping in mind how little I will be able to do and will feel like doing right after surgery!!!
When your home is clean, YOU feel clean... Stripped the bed and washed the mattress cover. Been working on the floors, dusting... Weekend before hospital (next weekend) plan to have spotless fridge, meals with names and dates on all the storage containers in freezer.
Might ALSO make me more mindful of living like this regularly.
Spring cleaning is not enough. Should be deep cleaning every quarter. March, June, September, December. In fact, now that I'm thinking about this, it's going to be my new goal. Quarterly deep cleans!
I rarely get to clean as my house help cleans everyday and she's usually the one who deep cleans the entire house every few weeks or I hire some professional guys from the urban company app but whenever I did, I felt overwhelmed and exhausting just to see everything I have to do and when I finally get into the process, it's tiring but also feel like "I can do this and house will look so great!!" And when it's finally done... I fall in love with the house all over again 🤣 I feel so happy and satisfied. It's relaxing for sure.
Nope , I grew up in what could well be considered some sort of enforced fascist clean regime. My mother as much as I loved her made my life an emotionally damaging purgatory in the sense of what I NEEDED to do as far as cleaning.
So NO , I do enough to keep me healthy and my home on the surface clean apart from the kitchen where I run a tighter ship but that’s it , what NEEDS to be done and nothing more. 1 - 2 hours a week maximum.
Ugh... hell no.
And every time I have to do it, I'm always reminded that things get filthy VERY quickly and all that work gets undone in less time than it took to achieve it.

Although I try extremely hard to keep the house clean and tidy... Having two very young and boisterous children it's a feat of impossibility... We are therefore very fortunate indeed in having two lovely ladies from the village, who come in and spend an entire day vacuuming, cleaning and polishing our house from top to bottom... Whether it's a thorough deep clean or not I couldn't honestly say... However I can say that the house always looks immaculate for a "few hours", until the adorable "little monkeys" are let loose... Whereby in just a few minutes it looks like a bomb has hit us! lol
I actually just enjoy cleaning in general. It relaxes me. Deep cleaning can be annoying because it requires a lot of jumping up and down chairs when I'm doing the whole apartment. I don't do a lot of deep cleaning at work, but I do enjoy when I can organise our crap (which comes a mess soon) except it means it's a slow and a long day/evening.
It depends on what I'm cleaning. I deep cleaned my oven a few days ago. I had my music on loud, I was doing a little dance. It was very therapeutic for me. However I hated cleaning my cook top the last time I did it. Mostly because I was scared I was gonna cut my self. It happened to me once before, so yeah, not a fan. I'm hoping we can get one of those fancy glass top ones soon.
If it's a surface like that that will come up super clean then yeah I love it also..
Shitty surfaces that will. never be clean = Then not so much.
I could use someone like you at my bakery shop.
Yes, I wash and wax my truck in the spring and fall. I vacuum it and wash all the windows. I detil the dashboard and use armorall on the rubber parts and I have leather preservatives for the seats. It looks brand new.
Honestly, no, I don't.
Yet, despite our maid service, I end up showing the maids how to deep clean numerous areas of our home the way I'd like them to.
I LOVE deep cleaning... its therapeutic for me. I like to listen to music while I do it.
Not particularly. I more enjoy the satisfaction of completing the task and seeing the results.
Cleaning is like my therapy! whether I’m overthinking, happy, or sad, I just do it. I’m not obsessed, but I love keeping my place tidy.
100% absolutely!! When I’m stressed I vacuum
deep cleaning brings me back to life...
especially when I do the kitchen, that's just so satisfying... and even relaxing to me, lol
I need a live in housekeeper. Me almost never being home would basically amount to them picking up after themself and keeping the cobwebs and dust at bay.
What a wonderful person you are!
Would you like to come and clean my place 🙂
@Razp_Sorbet This could be the start of a wonderful relationship.
Yes, very much. I am a total clean freak.
I enjoy it a lot. I can spend an hour or more watching someone deep cleaning.
@Dongie... woof :)
@Razp_Sorbet person with ocd, I try to always keep house deep clean but if there are kids at home , that would be highly impossible.
If you're working a restaurant, hopefully you're doing a lot of deep cleaning. And then you can really scratch the itch
Not really but it's something I can get into.
I don't enjoy the proccess, but the end result is very satisfying.
I know what you mean. What kind of shop is that you work at?
It's a cinema
Hmm no... i live in New Zealand
You've definitely got similar styles cinemas they're typically small boutique ones
I promise you, you have similar ones. I have a friend who lives in Nevada and I've found one there
We have 5 screens at my work 🙂 biggest cinema holds 112 and smallest 12
I've seen cinemas that do similar things with food and beverages
As a kid, before they built the 5-screen, there was the Martin Theater. It had 6 or 7 seats down each side and a center rack of about 15 seats with maybe 20-plus rows. With a balcony that held at least 50 plus. The place was huge. The screen must have been 40 feet wide. We had a drive-in too.
You should look around and try find one, its a much different atmosphere than a typical cinema. Sit all comfy with a glass of wine or beer and a slice of cake.
They're typically locally owned too so bonus for supporting local businesses.
Love it! Great when frustrated or stressed and also after setting a new goal.
Nah, I'm not really obsessed with cleaning.
Yeah. I find it therapeutic 🤣
