What causes someone to ask the same and similar questions all the time on here and have obsessions with those questions?

[Anonymous]

What’s the cause of this behavior? Do you find it annoying? What do you think they have?

[SueShe]

Obsession is a good way of saying it but I also fear that obsession is not the only reason.

There are some people that like to see the reactions of others on the same topic. They take pleasure at aggravating others but asking the same questions over and over again. And when their account gets blocked or removed for spamming and trolling, they simply create a new one.

Those are typically people with serious psychological issues that should be addressed by a specialist.

But it is not just individuals. The same 10 questions are asked numerous times over again even though there is a provision to see what questions have been asked before. A good example is the penis size question.

What psychological issues? That can be the cause?

[SueShe]

The need to in the center of interest. People "collecting" followers would fit in that description.

The definition is as follows:

"In psychology, the need to be the center of attention is known as attention-seeking behavior, which ranges from mild social habits to clinical traits associated with personality disorders. When driven by a persistent, deep-seated emotional reliance on the spotlight, it is typically understood through several psychological dimensions".

thanks for the MHO

Trolls will troll. It is not just questions. There are anons on here that have been spamming the same nonsense in comments for years, and 90% of them are males. Of course they will shift the focus to female users of this platform every time. It is their defense mechanism kicking in when they have nothing worthwhile to say.

It's annoying AF. Too bad there isn't a feature to prevent it

Mental illness and or a small intellectual capacity

I think some people like to hear opinions from a lot of people instead of just a small group. For example if a person asked a question for the first time and only got 5 responses they might want to ask again just to hear more people’s opinions.

[Anonymous]

I think they have an addiction to the topic they ask about and they need some kind of help managing their obsession with it.
