There are many places in the world that are unique and make visitors feel as if they are on another planet.
1.) Lake Baikal
A very large lake in Siberia. It holds more water than the Great Lakes, is 5,387 feet deep(deepest lake in the world), has the world’s clearest waters, has 1,000 species of plants and 2,500 species of animals. Most of the life at Lake Baikal is endemic which means it can’t be found anywhere else in the world. There are several rumors surrounding the lake such as being the home of a large “lake monster” and according to some Russian soldiers, it supposedly hosts a extraterrestrial base at the bottom.
2.) Mariana’s trench
It’s been said that only 5% of Earth’s ocean has been explored. Perhaps the most “Alien” like place on Earth that people have gone to is Mariana’s trench which is the deepest part of the Ocean. Jacques Picard visited this place and is said to have encountered a “disk shaped object” and a large unidentified sea creature. Jacques and his crew had to cut the expedition short after their vessel got damaged. James Cameron also explored this area. This is the most dangerous place on this list.
3.) Ball’s Pyramid
A island that is part of Australia. It is mostly known for hosting the critically endangered Lord Howe’s island stick insect also considered to be the rarest insect in the world. These stick insects were nearly extinct when their population was only at 24 but have since been bred in captivity to save them. What also makes this island unique is that it is part of the sunken continent known as Zealandia. Some people even believe that the island was once home to “dragons” or aliens. 
4.) Soccotra island
A Island close to Yemen, it is known as “the most alien looking place on Earth”. A lot of it’s species and plants are endemic to Soccotra.
5.) Chara sands
A very small desert in Siberia. Yes you read that right. The desert is only 1.9 miles long and 3.7 miles wide. 
6.) Tibet
A part of China that has some political tensions between ethnic Tibetans and the Chinese gov’t. Politics aside, Tibet is a very beautiful place that has large mountainous regions and interesting culture. Some people who believe in the Hollow Earth theory, believe that one entrance to “Agartha”(A technologically hollow Earth civilization) is located somewhere in Tibet.
7.) Japan
There are various species of animals and plants that are endemic to Japan like the Tanuki and Japanese Macaque. Japan also has a interesting culture along with nice forests and mountainous regions. A lot of UFO sightings are reported in Japan as well.
8.) Hang son Doong
It’s largest known cave in the world, it is around 5.6 miles long. It is located in Vietnam and is known for having a subterranean river. It is popular destination for tourists.
9.) Mount Shasta
A potentially active Volcano located in Siskiyou county California USA. When people think of California they usually think of a Urban city due to Los Angeles being a popular city. However, there are parts of California that is not urbanized, it’s mostly mountains, forests and wildlife like Big bear, Mammoth mountain, Yosemite and Siskiyou county. Mt. Shasta has had unusual weather patterns like the “lenticular clouds” which some people believe are alien spacecraft. Some people believe another entrance to Agatha is located on Mt. Shasta.
10.) Antarctica
The only continent that doesn’t have a indigenous civilization(unless you consider penguins a civilization). Most people who visit Antarctica are scientists and tourists which means that nobody actually lives in Antarctica. What makes this continent unique is that since not much is known about Antarctica, it is the source of many conspiracy theories from hosting a Antarctican Nazi colony, aliens, a entrance to Agartha and native creatures known as the “ningen”.

A canyon located in Arizona USA. It’s made of Sandstone and is popular for tourists.
13.) Kakslauttanen arctic resort
A resort located in Finland, it has igloos that resemble small flying saucers and is popular for viewing the Northern lights.
14.) Evoluon building
A conference center in Holland, it stands out due to it resembling a giant flying saucer.
