Does travel get boring after awhile?

I'll give my story... 40 years old, 50+ countries... And while I still love the aspects of it... there's no way in hell I can do month long expeditions like I used to. Hell, two weeks feels like too long... And even though I love it still.. it's just not as exciting anymore.. I don't know if that's age or boredom.

I think that is reasonable. As a kid, I could walk the length of two bus rides to go to church on Sunday mornings since buses did not come to my house until around 1 hour after church began and now I can’t even walk the length of one bus ride, much less two. Meaning I will never be able to go to that church Sunday morning unless I car pool.

Since the responsibility of a somebody increases gradually as from a particular point of her lifetime , there probably are so many things to think about like work , family , free times , physchology , daily routines so on people are more likely not to be bored while travelling. Remember childhood memories everything is simple , clear , no responsibilities and so that younger people have tendecy to joy and , in other words , not to get bored easily when compared to elder ones.

I used to travel a lot for my job. Sometimes I would be on the road for weeks at a time. It got to be tiresome. I worked all the time and only saw the world from an airport or motel or McDonalds.

I love travelling! I like the excitement of just getting lost in places I’ve never been in before and meeting new people. And eating their food and discovering everything. How can that be boring? It has nothing to do with age either. So try Mars next time 😝

I think you can easily get bored with continuous travel and living out of a suitcase. I did a round trip of 6 cities back to back and it was exhausting. All I wanted was my own bed, my own stuff, and to see my friends and family again. I think for most people, they aren't traveling year round and so travel still holds a fine level of excitement, but unless you are the type enjoy the nomad life, it can very much get boring and frustrating even if you enjoy bits and pieces of your travels.

Yes I used to fly for work (72 flights in the year before Covid) and it gets really boring really fast.

Older - roughly the same number of countries, its not the travelling that's the boring part, its the airports and the delays caused by the 'security' measures.
