Lakes are everywhere in the world, so let's ask "What country has the most lakes?"

BONUS: How many lakes does that country have? You might be surprised at the number.

Please don't cheat by looking it up. Make your best guess.

Thanks to all for participating. This is actually a tough question, because there are many large countries that have lots of lakes. The correct answer is

Canada, which has a total of 31,752 lakes. That's a lot of lakes, most caused by retreating glaciers during the Ice Age.

I rechecked my sources (thank you @SoftCliff). Canada is the correct answer, with 879,800 lakes. The original source I used only counted lakes of more than 3 sqkm in size.

How many now? I think the exact number approximates 1 million, but I'm not quite sure

I always associate Canada with lakes but I wonder if its one of the wetter countries. Also does every country define a lake the same way or do some class a duck pond as one.

Well some that visit here from US call are "sea" a duck pound
So I will assumes its so other places as well 😅
