Nothing wrong with living in a car, van or motorhome, RV trailer, etc... not hurting anyone and people need to live somewhere.
It is already illegal to park the vehicles somewhere on private property without permission or on public property for too long.
Probably the government and the population are crooked. 🇨🇦 Best off moving North in my opinion. $50 days they don’t want to change.
I tried when the world was against me, could never get the money for an RV or trailer even though I should have been able to easily enough, scammed by my own family and shit.
No aslong as you actually can manage things like garbage, parking, water and electricity in a legal way. It's isn't suitable for family life. Since society isn't nomadic.
Hell no, it shouldn't be illegal. Honestly, I would love to get a very nice van like you've shown in the pictures and travel the country.
Honestly, if it wasn't for my partner's job not being flexible life mine, we might have done this already.

Of course not because they're not harming anyone. It's better than living on the streets and it's also cheaper than a house.
It's absolute genius lol.
Definitely shouldn't be illegal. I dont know the laws, but I feel that as long as the vehicle isn't super intrusive, you should be able to park it anywhere regular vehicles are allowed. I think living in a van would be really fun, nothing to tie you down.. but I'm too much of a hoarder for that.
I am against it! Not for your situation but for the 99% of the others. Your $100K van is out of reach for most! Its the other 99% of crime ridden trash! First is safety issues, Next police want to know where you are, States and cities want their tax, trash and waste not properly disposed of.
It should not be illegal when they own it and live in it with proper documents and in the right place.
However, if they intend to park their van anywhere without proper permission or authorization, then it should be illegal.
Looks like cool ass van inside and be nice to hang but maybe not live. I don't it should be illegal some people is all they can afford and be homeless. I be okay a van but I don't think I would want to live in a van. It wouldn't really impress most girls.
Why would it be illegal? As long as it's not hurting anyone, not parked on someone else's place or living unhumane conditions, I don't see a problem with it.
Why should it be illegal? If someone wants or needs to live in it, why should they be forbidden from doing so?
No, the last time i checked t was a free coiuntry. What about all the people living on the sidewalk of democrat run cities Do they get a pass because they are Biden's people?
Most I see tend to be recently retired people who move from one scenic spot to another. They're not hurting anymore so let them be.
Some people that are single or couples that has kids but are grown and moved on sellout and travel the world. But sometimes you have those that don't have family, so they do the best they can. We need to concentrate on people that's got all the money and sitting on it.
Damn if I was in the USA I'd totally go tiny living too bad I can't do that here
Why can't you?
Many different reasons:
1. There's not really much land around here and even if there is land you need to acquire a permit to have a semi permanent home on it, don't quote me but I think it's anything longer than 4 maybe 6 months.
2. There's nothing in place for postal addresses, even if you're in a place that receives post. Maybe you can have a postcode created for yourself but I can bet you that's a pretty penny.
3. There is real bad stigma about mobile home owners in UK and you can actually not get jobs based on that fact.
4. Because of the overcrowding crisis - that the gov purposely created 🙄 - they give more permission to build up rather than low and across.
5. Yet despite that crisis, government officials say they don't want to introduce tiny living as that'll impact negatively on mental health, and will be forcing people into shittier conditions. (Never mind that people are asking for this).
6. They are already wasting a lot of our police time by shooing away vans and caravans/motorhomes, away from roadsides allowing more people to own them, would mean even more police resources wasted.
There's probably more that I can't think of, but I've watched a few shows on tiny living in the US and it sounds great 15-30k to own your home a brilliant thing for retirees or graduates so that they can live rent free in the start of their lives or the end of their lives.
Oh thought of one more:
7. The structural value of the property is nothing like houses it won't gain money in time, rather the structural integrity will dramatically decrease over time and would need replacing a lot more than brick and mortar. Therefore they don't want to invest in projects like tiny living, as there's no money to be made aka- inheritance tax or if at the end of your life you have no family/friends etc then the government gets the full estate value, which is next to nothing if it's a mobile home.
No it shouldn’t be illegal, because it’s that persons own property, that they paid for.
Nah. Especially if your a traveller or are homeless. I've always had a love for vans (especially old ones) so if someone wants to live in a van down by the river fine by me lol
I have only encountered gypsies/travelers a few times. As long as people leave me alone, I leave them alone. It’s that whole concept of Live and Let Live.
Illegal? Why?
Rule #1 of Life Decency to me is: never give a fuck about what other people besides you are doing
I think raising children in a van should be illegal. There’s the family on tiktok.. really weird people. It’s like 11 of them living on a bus.. with children.
I agree
lol what why should it be illegal. They aren't harming anyone, let them do their thing.
I think it should be fine as long as its an actual mobile home/RV or whatever with a built in sink and so on
they tend to be rather cost efficient for couples looking to start a life together while traveling around.
No it's fine. Furthermore more jurisdictions need to allow tiny homes and trailer park zoning again. Houses are getting insanely overvalued.
No it shouldn’t be better than living on the street corner
I think they hacked a loophole and if it works for them so be it.
Fuck, leave people alone to live how they want.
No. Talk about overreach of government. I say more power to them for finding a way to live free of rent or mortgage.
As long as they’re not hurting anyone or taking anything from anyone, i don’t see a problem with it.
Noo, I don’t think so, and I’d like to have one like these🤍
Nope. If someone wants to live in their van there is nothing wrong with it.
Dont be so surprised because of the housing costs. Its only a matter of less affordibility over time, that more people resort to living in vans or tents.
Escaping, sabotaging or avoiding ''the System'' is something I support.
Only corrupt politicians would want this practice outlawed
if you are self-contained and in a RV park then it is ok there BLM campgrounds that snowbirds live in over the winter and go back home up north when the weather warms up
No? I say we should let people live however they want.
Why would making it illegal even be a consideration? What's the problem with it?
No, because the homeless problem is already extreme. We don't need to outlaw more types of homes.
No. At one point I thought about putting my stuff in storage and buying a van and roaming the country for a year.
Not at all. It's your property and you can park in public places. That and there are lots just for staying at in your vehicle.
it is here in uk but you need a postal address for stuff to be sent to
Why would this need to be illegal? Who's going to enforce it?
They are trying to ban it
I agree with the other user here. Raising kids in a car/van should be illegal. I understand some don’t have another option but definitely people need to start buying RVs
No. A Class B RV is essentially a van. Sometimes people live in one of those.
Seems like there should be lots you can go to for that.
Should never be illegal unless you want people sleeping on your front lawn.
no? why should it be?
No, soon we'll all be in a similar situation when the government imprisons us all to further their goals
Doesn't matter how I feel about it - an RV is considered a home.
Fuck no. I would even legalize street racing
Why the hell should it be?
No, why should it be?
living on the streets should be illegal.
Where do you expect them to go?
Well, homelessness was not a thing for centuries even though there was a huge financial gap between the poor and rich, it’s due to politics. You know there are countries like in the Norwegian countries who do not even have one homeless person because healthcare is affordable and cheap, rent prices are fixed that whole time you live in that home. However, the US doesn’t care about homelessness, and those who are on drugs should be helped forcibly because I do not think ‘it’s a free country’ is good in this case, more rule and order.
@Bellona So basically your argument is that people should be arrested so that they can get the help they need?
Honestly, that's a fair proposal, if we're talking about alcoholics and drug addicts.
But you're leaving out the other homeless people that are NOT affected by substance abuse issues. Why should they be subjected to arrest when they're not doing anything wrong? And if their problems are purely financial, how is the government going to help them (aside from giving them free money)?
@Jamie05rhs those people who have financial problems need to be put in public housing and given a job, as it is hard for the homeless to find a job when the manager does not know if they could trust them to work for them (if they will go back to drugs... a risk). If those are given public housing temporarily until they have a job it would be helpful and the managers of businesses would be more likely to trust them if addicts are given help and put away from society until addict free.
It’s ok if they are doing it legally.
Why should that be illegal?
Hell no. Where will people in CA live?
No unless it's on someone else's property
What if they park on public street. For the night to sleep
i don't think so. why?
No look at skidrow lol
What if they parked on public streets. Like regular cars
Leave people alone to live however they like
No it's a way of life
Don't see why? What's the problem with it?
Live and let live
In most states it is.
