What is it like to land at an airport on the island?

I visited Hawaii, Barbados, Jamaica and a Chinese Island for a one or two week vacation stay and I liked the Chinese Island a lot because we got the best tour guide and stayed at the best hotels during our trip. Gua Ling is how I phonetically pronounce it but not sure if that is the correct transliteration for it in English.
Yes they do which is how I flew to them. I do not visit places that don't have air ports cause our family values comfort more than novelty.
We prefer airplanes cause it’s faster, ships and trains take longer and my dad has limited vacation days.
I like short rides on trips, not long ones unless it is clean
To Tenerife, Malta and Cyprus.

On a flight overseas, I realized we were descending before our destination. I asked an attendant if we were landing on an island that is near it and she told me, "I hope so, otherwise we are going to make a big splash."
Also, I have flown to Okinawa, and island of Japan. I have taken off from one of the smallest islands in the world by plane, an aircraft carrier. And I have travelled to and landed on an aircraft carrier on helicopters. There ain't no better pilot than the ones who land big planes on postage stamps in the middle of the ocean.
It’s not so much landing on an island, it’s the level of the airport.
I’ve been to Mull a few times by air

Gibraltar air port is fun
also been to a few where you get shot at lol
Falkland Islands is pretty good
also Ascension
Discounting Great Britian and Australia, although both are islands, I've flown to Catalina Island, which is 26 miles off the coast of Southern California, several time. One trip was in a helicopter, and the others in a small private plane flown by my friend Scott.
When I was younger, we used to go The Maldives every year. Male airport is on a tiny island, but it wasn’t different to landing anywhere else.
Great Britain is an island, and I've flown to it many times. I've also flown to the new airport at Hong Kong several times; it's on Lantau Island. And I've been to Puerto Rico several times, flying into San Juan.
Many times.
Landing like landing, but the views are cool, especially of the turquoise water and cruise ships
Sure, often! The Canary Islands (Gran Canaria, La Palma, Tenerife) and the Acores are examples. What a sight when you approach one of them, as all of these examples have large volcanos.
Last time was Vancouver Island! Barely in the air for 30 minutes on a prop plane from Seattle.
Maldives- the landing strip was on land , but right between the water.
It’s just how they show in movies. Especially Caribbean islands. There’s always people waiting at the gate to greet and welcome.
Yes. Just like landing anywhere unless it is a tiny island, which don't usually have airports.
ye in the state i live in on our cost we have many barrier islands some are close enough to be connected by a bridge others need a ferry boat to get too
Yes I went to the Bahamas. It was no different than landing anywhere else.
Yeah, Block Island , Fishers island and Long Island many times
Yes, to the Crete for holidays. That was the only time I was on a plane.
All airports are more or less the same. I see no difference.
So you use a smaller aircraft. The flying experience, a decently solid runway and the airport ''atmosphere'' are still the same, I think. But I admit that I prefer a single- or two-seater over one of these flying sardine cans.
It is pretty much like any other plane landing - nothing special.
Corfu, Rhodes, Cuba, Barbados, Jamaica, Majorca, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Langkawi and Malta
No, not yet. But I plan on doing that some day.
