Car oil change?

I drive a 2016 Ford fusion. I haven't driven in months because on maternity leave and stuff. Car reads oil change required/recommended. Feeling anxious

As an automotive technician I'd say change it. The oil indicator light comes on based on how you drive and how long it's been since the last one, oil can lose it's cleaning properties of it's been sitting too long. I'm not saying it's an emergency and you have to do it now or your car won't run, but the sooner the better.

Look at the oil make sure it’s not dark. Make sure there’s plenty of oil in it. If the color is good, then don’t change it.
