Do they give you better airplanes if your flight is in the middle of the night?

Our trip to Mexico used a really bad airline, there was only one arm rest for two people and two arm rests for 3 and if I even touched the arm rest area, I would get negative remarks by my next door passenger and than the shape of my seat did not fit the shape of my bones and I would get soreness from trying to sit in their seat and the aisle was so narrow I was afraid to take a washroom break cause I was worried about turbulence. I had a married man on one side and a bigoted hater on the other. I read airlines go out of their way to give you more comfortable trips for longer rides cause they know your tolerance level might be lower on another ride.
