Americans, Would you visit the original Washington?

Since it's 4th of July I thought it would be fun to ask this. Washington Hall, the ancestral home of the Norman oppressors known as the Washington family is located in Sunderland NE England.

Unsurprisingly it's a popular destination for Americans despite the area being a bit of a shithole. The red white stripes of the family crest there plus the eagle statues one day became American symbols

Americans like the area because the high chance of being murdered reminds them of home.

So would you visit Washinton Old Hall or give it a miss?

If someone were to make such an insensitive comment while I was visiting the Washington Old Hall in Britain, I would first take a few breaths to remain calm.

I would then explain how I find the comment inappropriate and offensive, and that it is certainly not a reflection of my own values or beliefs.

Finally, I would ask them to reconsider their words and to show more respect for my history and culture and apologize before I report them to the proper authorities.

Fact, The Washingtons were oppressors. Fact, Sunderland is a shithole. Both are proveable in court.

I have been to Washin gton's estate in Mt Vernon VA. That was pretty interesting even though I was 11 years old when I went there.

@annabananna cool. I want to go back to Washington DC and do the tourist thing all over again, I was really too young to really understand a lot of it. My cousin had a big job in DC and he got us VIP passes. We went in the Oval Office snd we sat in on a session of the senate. I remember seeing Ted Kennedy there. I really did not understand what they were talking about.
