Oh, I am from Texas, the northeastern part.

I am from Shizuoka, Japan, specifically Shimizu.

Shimizu.

I lived on top of the mountainside surrounded by green tea fields growing up. There was a candy store at the bottom that I enjoyed along with a clearing near the top of the mountain where we played baseball.

Yet my mother is American and originally from East Tennessee. I am only Japanese on my father's side. Also a dual-citizen to both Japan and the US as a result.

I have this funny picture of me from kindergarten there. No one really smiled! I'm the one in the red circle.

Even Japanese kindergarten was pretty tough. We had to go six days out of the week from early morning until sunset and do calisthenics training every morning. I excelled in push-ups back then so my teachers sat down on me and pushed me down to make it harder.

Later my parents divorced and both moved and I lived all over the place in various parts of the US, Singapore, and Hong Kong growing up.

I have a difficulty sometimes when people ask me where I'm from. I always say Japan but my little sister began to say America because she acclimated much more to American culture when we lived there (also stayed behind in the US while I moved back to Japan as soon as I was able).

Sometimes when I tell people I am from Japan, they write to me in Japanese including kanji and I'm unable to read it since I lacked schooling in my teenage years here going to school in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the US during the time. So I only know a couple hundred kanji characters or so while the average Japanese person knows several thousand, and I'm a bit illiterate by Japanese standards (my wife helps me to read things in kanji).

@TonyMetal___86 Cheers! Actually my parents divorce was upsetting but had its pros and cons. I got to travel all over the place growing up which was an interesting experience, although a bit challenging sometimes being the new kid in school in a brand new country and culture and sometimes without even barely speaking the language people spoke! 😅

As for the background, it's Mt. Fuji there; always a nice sight but definitely a bit scary since it's officially classified as an active volcano. It always gave me a lot of comfort looking at it though over the horizon; I associate it with home.

Reading about how you lived your life moving between japan, u. s. a, hong kong... etc made me think about bruce lee 😄

He was a nice guy and also moved between these places, even after becoming a hollywood star.

The people there who lives near mt. fuji are courageous because living near an active volcano ain't easy at all, this photo which looks beautiful might turn into a living hell in a matter of seconds or minutes...

@TonyMetal___86 Bruce Lee is one of my idols! A lot of big dudes these days say they could take him (and they probably could) but I think he was still a very big contributor towards the development of mixed martial arts by challenging the orthodoxy and rigidness of traditional martial arts and combining all sorts of disciplines together. That's his greatest contribution to me is mixing a lot of styles together which formerly weren't mixed together.

Also some seriously epic lats! I want ultra-wide lats like that.

This man wasn't only smart and trained hard but he was also unique, his agility, power and speed made him lethal

@TonyMetal___86 The speed seems completely unmatched to me. I've never seen anyone come close to throwing kicks that fast, even air kicks without any power behind them, at anywhere close to the speed. I'm a big fan of kickboxing (what little training I had in martial arts was mostly kickboxing) and Samart Payakaroon:

But even despite being renowned for his speed, his quickest teeps which are just designed for pure distraction aren't anywhere near as fast as Bruce Lee.

@strateguy632 it is not their language either, it is our ethnicity but constant traveling and such ended up them not knowing their ethnic languages either, it is just bloodline weshare withthose countries.

perhaps but i don't believe it to bethe case, i don't know any romani and not a family of travelers either some gand grand parents moved to another country and married there and some other did the same and we eventually ended up being russians/italians who never saw their ethnic birth place.
i lived in turkey, Canada, berlin and even london (which is why i call friends mate, it stuck) (i don't know any germany either most of them knows English.)

My stepfather described going to one that had pictures dedicated to him, as it was a bar he played at in the 1970s.
