I had one of the worst turbulence situations I ever had my entire life during my flight from Miami back to Toronto 2 months ago and I read that planes were grounded less than a week later due to winds and turbulence. And then I read planes might be grounded again this week for many American destinations due to windy skies. I also heard that there have been at least 2 situations of passengers requiring hospitalization for shaky airplanes in the last 30 days. There might have been 4 or more cases reported on the news. I read that this is a proven situation and I'm not just imagining things. I'm now restricting my airplane rides to low turbulence zones, or places where there is no other option other than airplane to reach my intended location. I can drive to my cousin so we will not be flying there.

First, I don't know the American atmosphere. But I will provide my information.
Turbulence occur due to air pressure in the clouds and the speed of the aircraft. However, pilots must check the weather conditions before taking off (there were two delays this week due to weather conditions).
However, if the plane takes off and the weather conditions change, the pilot-captain must change the flight path or perform an emergency landing so as not to cause loss to the company and passengers.
If turbulence cause you stress, always choose a seat in the middle of the plane. (Knowing that we feel twice as much as the passengers feel in cockpit).
And turbulence not dangerous
