Rented an RV with 10 other kids when I was 18 and we drove it from Tucson Arizona about 700 mi South of the border to Mazatlan Mexico with surfboards and towing a Hobie Cat boat on a trailer on the back. Parked it on the beach and stayed there for 2 weeks.
What a blast! Surfing and boat rides all day.. Campfires and parties with tequila beer and Mexican food on the beach all night.
The only bad part was we were sleeping like three to a bed and the beds broke off the walls and the inside of the RV got trashed. So we lost our deposits. 😱
Hey we were kids ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes... it was one of my more interesting adventures. I took this old EV that my dad and his neighbor owned that didn't run, deal was if I could get it running I could take it to a festival... I wrenched on it for several weeks and finally got ot going except the cab AC, but I didn't care, the day had come and I took it on the open road.
Now, I'll say it's not tent camping... not sure if I would have considered it camping at all at the time... but my college friends came and joined me... I will say certain activities are FAR more enjoyable in an air-conditioned bed than in a tent on Labor Day!
Now that I'm older, while I don't care about the extras that come with it, a real mattress makes roughing it less rough.

No, I don’t like to be in a confined space. I also don’t like to have to go shopping, buy food, cook, clean up… it doesn’t sound like vacationing.
I like relax and not have to worry about all the above and more like mosquitos… and packing up lots of salt and food and etc… sounds too stressful.00 Reply
Yes I started out with just a sleeping bag on the ground next thing I knew I had a tent next thing I know I had a cabover camper on my truck next thing I know I had a motorhome... It's just a really good thing and it is better sleeping in there than on the ground in a sleeping bag l OL are you going out of camping trip

Yes, many people have had the pleasure of camping in an RV! 🚐 It's a fantastic way to combine the comforts of home with the adventure of the great outdoors. You can travel at your own pace, have easy access to nature, and enjoy amenities like a kitchen and bathroom. Plus, it’s perfect for exploring multiple destinations without constant packing and unpacking. Have you decided where you want to go RV camping yet? 🏕️00 Reply

Into my first car
I built in a bed, lockers and a breakfast pantry.
But I used it for extended party-ing, not for camping.
The typical camper vehicle is way to bourgeois for my taste.

That thing is fucking awesome. I wish they still made them.

Not an RV, but my family had a pop-up camper that we took out sometimes. It was supposed to be one of the more luxurious models, but even the most luxurious pop-up camper is pretty much just a tent on steroids. =)
I... didn't love the thing... lol00 Reply 440 opinions shared on Travel topic. A "camper" not an RV.
7 of us rode in one a lot like this on a 1000 mile trip to Florida. I was only 6 years. old at the time so i was too young and too little to realize this wasn't exactly high living. Still we had a blast.

Q. Has anyone been camping in an RV?
A. No. No one has ever been camping in an RV.
40 Reply We actually have a motorhome, which unfortunately due to work commitments and various other things, we don't seem to use enough.

I usually tent camp, but I was a camp host for several years and lived in a fifth wheel. So, yes, of course.

@Metalbarbie It was. I met people from all over the world, particularly European. If you get the chance, go for it!
I drove somewhere between 10-15K miles in a camper van across most of the United States and camped every day. Sometimes I slept in the camper van. Sometimes I slept in a tent in the woods.

Had a 24 ft towable with tent ends. It was nice, but I still like tenting and sleeping on the ground.
