Florida and other states about to get hit a second time within a matter of days at that. This will be a category 5

Living on an island that is not immune from hurricanes, I really sympathize with anyone who has been faced with these.

But the reporting about these storms really troubles me. For days I heard it's a category 5 it's a category 5 okay it's a category 4 now it's a category 5 again.

Then the moment it hit Florida, I barely had time to change the channel and they were saying it was a Category 1.

I get that maybe they weekend when they're over land but they were reporting it was a 2 or a 1 the moment it hit Florida

I'm glad it was weaker than expected but why is that almost always the case?

Are they playing the game that they want to scare people so that they get them to evacuate? If that's what it's about we don't need them to do that. The purpose of the press is to tell us the facts and let us decide for ourselves.

I’m not in the path though I hope people evacuated when they could, are safe where they remained, and that their family, friends, pets are also safe & doing well.

@red324 it's not so bad where I live but I did see a house in my neighborhood that almost got it's roof blown off. And we still don't have power, hopefully they'll get it fixed today... Or that's what we were told.
