It seems like most of the Southern US is under major weather advisories as Helene is bolting for Tallahassee and aiming to come up through Georgia, Tennessee and The Carolinas

It's just been a couple days of rain and light wind. A few small sticks are on the ground and need to be picked up before the lawn can be mowed. Solar output has been lower than average. Wed it was like 60% of normal and yesterday it was 71%. Today it looks good though for the middle of the day.

I live near Toronto which is around 4 hours from Miami by airplane so I don’t usually get affected by the Miami weather issues but we might have tiny residue symptoms like a cloudy day or extra rain from what happens in down south.

I don't think I will ever get used to how extreme the weather gets in the us compared to Britain. Hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, floods, earthquakes, typhoons, bomb cyclone, droughts, heatwaves, wildfires.

It will be a Tropical Storm when it passes here. What's left of the eye will pass over my city. At least that's what it looks like now. It has already been raining 12 hours straight.

@nawtee_me But we almost NEVER get a direct hit. We only get hit when a storm makes landfall on the Gulf coast and then crosses the state; it arrives here in a dissipated state. Our last direct hit from the Atlantic was in 1964.

As I predicted yesterday, we remained on the periphery of the storm. We only received a few inches of rain and the flooding is minimal. We had some winds of perhaps 50 mph so there are a few trees down and some people lost power but the roads are clear and I am going to work this morning.
