I don't think you have to love them to visit their country, I don't like the Japanese much but I’ve visited Japan. I'm not a fan of the Indians either but if there was a guarantee I wouldn't get raped, I would visit India too.
I don't like Japanese and Indians either. I might go to India if I knew I wouldn't get diarrhea. The one thing that can make or break a place for me is the people. I don't wanna go somewhere were I will be treated badly or too culture shocked. I can't see myself visiting Japan honestly
They don't treat you badly in Japan but their culture where they fetishize childish and servant women is pretty creppy. The scariest thing is that women are fine with that. My brother and I were at a cafe and when the waitress made a mistake she said "please forgive me, pls forgive me" and she said it in a tone like she was hurting. When her bs was over my brother asked why she was acting like that and the girl said "I thought you'd like it". Like wtf.😂
I never understood why people find Japanese people cute.
"They don't treat you badly in Japan"
I beg to differ
I know, they're a little perverted. "Little" is probably being nice.
I thought it was about saving face, so that was quite a plot twist. Yeah, I could go on and on about the Japanese honestly.
From what I've heard from some girls there, there are really strange expectations from women. What kind of bad treatment do you expect? Actually if you're a white tourist, they treat you like you're a celebrity.
They actually had to pass a law outlawing upskirt photos.
Yeah, you probably know.
If you're White they'll treat you better than other races, but they'll still treat you worse than Asians.
One Swiss girl said she had her mask ripped off and got punched on a pubic bus and no one did anything because they thought she started it.
I heard another story of some Japanese who started a bar fight with a White American tourist, and the locals straight up lied to the police and said the White guy started it, and police didn't believe him that Japanese started it.
I've even heard stories of foreigners being kicked out of restaurants for holding chop sticks wrong or sitting the wrong way. And even getting scolded for taking a shit the wrong way.
Not to mention how the treat non-ethnic Japanese even if they're born in the country.
True, they are xenophobic. Between foreigners and Japanese, they will always side with the Japanese.
All Asians are like that. Even if they hate each other, they'll always side with another Asian over a non-Asian
East Asians at least.
Though South Korea is an interesting case. I heard they once refused to hire an Asian-American to teach English, because they believe that only White people can speak proper English
Dzięki for The mho

Where in Japan did you go?
@KostasKouvalis people mostly like countries beauty and sites, not their personality.
its similar to a persons beauty and personality.
Personally, the people are an important factor to me, but maybe that's just me
@KostasKouvalis
Thanks for mho

I find nothing funny about hate and as German, with my country being visited by 40 million tourists, I can also relate to receive silly hatred and prejudices by the usual keyboard "heroes". With regard to France, I still remember in 2003 the GOP right-wingers in U. S. Congress renaming "French Fries" to "Freedom Fries", conveniently ignoring that they were a Belgian invention.
Only difference is, most of the Germans I've met lacked basic manners, while the French didn't. So it's hard to dispute the bad reputation of the Germans. A decade ago, Germans were Americans' favorite Europeans and were considered the friendliest, but German attitude has changed over the last few years. I've met some cool ones, but honestly most of the Germans I've met were assholes.
We had a German orchestra staying at one of our campgrounds and the Rangers had to keep constantly reminding them to pay.
We were in Malta and crowds of German tourists young and old would just stand in a circle in museums and streets, and we'd say "excuse me" to them and they'd just stand there.
Don't even get me started on the agents at Frankfurt airport.
Youtuber Walter's World had even more interesting things to say about the behavior of the Germans.
So I think your reputation is well deserved.
I have not noticed any severe attitude changes here and going from being seen as "the friendliest" to "most are assholes" inside of ten years makes no sense whatsoever. All these extreme depictions, in whatever direction, are just anecdotal at best. Many people are also just regurgitating what someone else falsely spread around, e. g. Germans drink warm beer, Germans wear Lederhosen, Germans drive on the left side, yadda, yadda...
@KostasKouvalis all French people I met lacked basic manners...
Germans are cold and indifferent... but they behave :D
@IslaTheWitch Walter'sWorld said they cut in line. Shove themselves onto public transportation and people can't even get off. And in restaurant if you don't place your order the first time the waiter arrives, you won't see him again😂
Anyways, I've had the opposite experience
I live here :D

@IslaTheWitch I know you don't, but considering Polish have the same etiquette when it comes to lines and public transportation, maybe you don't notice because it's normal for you😂
They visit, but no one wants to live there. There are plenty of countries that make a lot of money on tourism.
And the tour guides are only going to show you the rich and beautiful areas where only the few wealthy people can afford to live in. The areas that the average person can afford is going to have bums on the streets and destitute.
The French have their problems, but it’s a fabulous country to visit, and I enjoy the French people.
I enjoy them too. The closest friend I ever had was French
"... most of the Germans I've met lacked basic manners, while the French didn't".
This ^ is a good example of why no one likes or respects the French people. They are arrogant and self-important, and no one thinks as highly of the French people as they themselves do.
I have spent plenty of time in France and Germany, and Germans have far better manners than the French. French people are rude and unpleasant. Germans are generally not.
I DO.
I had the opposite experience
That is exactly why. French people (specifically Parisians) have a reputation for being terrible awful shitheads to tourists. So people visit and hate the people of Paris and go home to dog on the entire population.
They're like that towards other French people too though.
But regardless, why do they bother going there in the first place if they think they'll have a bad experience?
People don't know Parisians are assholes until they visit.
Capital/biggest cities are usually the most assholish
Agreed. Paris is to France what Berlin is to Germany. We refuse to call Berliners to be representative of the rest of Germany.
@islathewitch lives in Berlin XD
I'm definitely not a good representation of Germans :D
I'm too emotional and people oriented :D
@IslaTheWitch 'Cuz you're Polish😂
I'm multi-culti... three fucking passports :D
@IslaTheWitch THREE? If you have one EU passport you don't really need another one so what are the other 2?
I got three nationalities as a birth present :D and it was long before the EU was created lol so it was useful to have other passports when I lived behind the Iron Curtain :D
"Iron Curtain" No, to byly czasy! :p
A żebyś wiedział! wtedy to była inflacja - galopująca :D
@IslaTheWitch This is my first time hearing that last word
it's an adjective from gallop in English and galop in Polish :D
@IslaTheWitch I figured, I just never heard it before. You just don't have a special word for "gallop"?
galop zawsze wystarczał, czemu? :D
@IslaTheWitch I guess we've just never had a reason to use it our vocabulary. If we were talking about horses galloping, we would just used the words for "running."
Oh, and apparently you're brutally honest. :p
yep, that's me :D
No. There is not a single person in any of the pics you posted. Was that intentional?
People visit France because of the country, NOT the people. That's for sure.
I was gonna post one, but I can only post 7 pictures, so I preferred to showcase the natural and architectural wonders of the country.
Hmmmmmmmm. I would visit for both. Francophiles do
Like most non-French, I'm a Francophobe.
Few people hate France. I don't hate France, but I don't care what happens to it. In fact, when the Charlie Hebdo incident happened, I was a child, and I said that they deserved it.
Not really. People visit France for a lot of reasons, but it's not because they like French people. No one likes French people.
I like them.
I don't know, to me personally the people are an important aspect. I don't know why someone would want to support assholes
They've given people a lot of good reason to.
But people are often hypocrites, yes.
France is a country full of douchebags. Tourists go to France to see walking talking douchebags.
