What are things you like and hate about Airbnb’s and do you think it’s worth it?

I like AirBnBs because often they create great stories. They're more comfortable than hotel rooms. I love doing them.

For dislikes, you have to be wary of hosts offering cheap rates but trying to jack you on cleaning fees. Also some hosts have unreasonable requests for checkout (like I'll do minor stuff, but I'm not half cleaning a place I pay a cleaning fee for)

They can be hit or miss, it depends on who owns it and who's the caretaker or cleaner. I rented some pretty sweet airbnbs in the mountains by Big Bear California

The biggest negative is the devastating effect they have on local housing markets, which is why they're banned or heavily restricted in many cities. For example, it was reported that in my county, there were 10,000 airbnbs, but fewer than 50 vacant houses available to rent long term, and 20,000 households on the waiting list for social housing.
By the time you factor in the cleaning fees, they're usually not even that cheap any more, unless there's a large group of you sharing, and you're staying for quite a while.

Like: It's sometimes cheaper than a hotel

Hate: No staff or maid service. If there's an emergency, you're on your own. Some of them are very basic.

I prefer hotels

Never used them, I prefer campers because I can get luxury accommodations on the go.
